Re: The Official Breaking Bad Thread (Spoiler Alert)
wow that was intense. A bit crazy how no one in the train noticed anything, but otherwise awesome. So its official, Jesse has the best plans (Fucking Magnets! Robbing a Fucking Train!) The end with Todd killing a kid just made the episode perfect. You might call me sick, but i liked it because it would have been cheesy and unoiginal to have the 'happy ending' where no one notices anything and everything ends with no problems.
And also, The way Walt dealt with Flinn was just perfect. Shows how much he has changed since the beginning. In Season 1 he let Walt Jr call him all sorts of insults, including 'Bitch' and 'Pussy'. Maybe if he treated Flinn like this all along, he wouldn't end up being such a whining idiot.

Re: The Official Breaking Bad Thread (Spoiler Alert)
Great episode with a tremendous finish. Luckily I had forgotten the opening scene by the end of the episode. Instead I though for a long time they would somehow kill off this Ted during the heist, because he looked so simple-hearted. After all, with all the build up it was likely, someone goes under the train.
I feel sorry for the kid. Especially as I felt the kill was not "necessary". The heist would have never become public knowledge (due to no one looking for the stolen quantum) and the kid didn't know what they actually did, so they could've just ignored the kid and turn away like normal workers.
But, hey, it's a series! If you have a moral problem with that, you should have stopped watching in episode 1x01 when Walt starts cooking poison. BTW, Game of Thrones does the same to kids. This is just edgy television.

And it shows: Jesse has actually some brains, as long as people ignore him, but yell at each others in alpha male-style.
The finish completely fits the direction Walt has taken. He is much more ruthless, riskfriendly and pragmatic as in the past. Stuff like that is bound to happen, when you are getting fast-paced and ambitious.

Re: The Official Breaking Bad Thread (Spoiler Alert)
^ Oh yeah, GOT is not just kids dying, but them killing each other for fun.
I'm gonna make some predictions for this season. Walt J.R will definitely follow his father, he's gonna end up with blue meth, or else i'm gonna shout at the directors, he's been doing the same thing for 5 seasons (complaining about not knowing anything), it only makes sense for it to end up with him going blue to deal with his problems. Walt J.R will kill someone (please make it happen), might as well end up being Ted Benecky.
Skyler and Hank will die. Hank has to die, i don't see him simply leaving Walt be a drug-dealer, so he'll go for Walt, thus he'll have to die. And since this show has a thing for killing kids, i can also see Marie getting really angry whe she finds out Walt is responsible for/or killed Hank, and she'll end up accidently killing the Baby (since the kids will be at her house).

Re: The Official Breaking Bad Thread (Spoiler Alert)
I don't agree with the child-killing, but Walt did say no one except their little group was to know about the robbery.
....and Todd seems a bit slow.
All I know is, it made for great TV.

Re: The Official Breaking Bad Thread (Spoiler Alert)
Excellent episode, Walt/Skylar interaction was again tense and ominous for the future with Skyler still clinging to this belief Walt and the family will be in danger, I do have to wonder as well how long Walt will let Skylar control him. He's proven as the series has gone on that he loves to be in control and I just can't see him playing by Skylar's rules without trying to find some way to ensure he gets what he wants, which is the children back at home.
Walt Jr showing emotion and struggling with the Walt/Skylar problems was much needed, and will definitely leave people wondering if this will slowly turn into a sidestory with him maybe turning to the blue meth to cope with his family problems. Walt's cold tone when addressing his son was pitch perfect and another great illustration of how far he's come.
Whole train robbery scene was absorbing and tense with them teasing they'd be found out, like others I'd completely forgotten about the child in the beginning of the episode. I thought at first the episode would end with them just staring in shock and the fallout and possible implications of keeping their secret would be the focus of the next episode, but the minute Todd reached for his pocket I knew what was going to happen. Incredibly poetic ending with the Gus correlation as others have pointed out, and Jesse's reaction will definitely be the focus of the next few episodes. He's proven to detest and loathe the necessity to kill in order for their operation to survive, so I can't wait to see how he handles Todd's actions. I'm predicting a big scene between him and Walt with Walt maybe trying to justify Todd's actions.
Also thought the scene with Walt, Jesse, Lydia and Mike was rather badass. Mike is just awesome in those tense and dark settings and was really incredible with the constant threats to Lydia and the mini confrontation with Walt.
Really enjoying the layout of this season so far, a lot of possible stories and character arcs being presented to us and Jesse's battle with his own morality has already been a strong component of the show in Seasons 2, 3 and 4 and will no doubt give us some tremendous scenes in the coming episodes.

I know Breaking Bad isn't a show that's famous for comedy, but that line just made me laugh. The way Walt said it with such a nonchalance about the entire train robbery he was about to embark just shows how cold and emotionless Walt has become since the first season. The entire episode was brilliant.
