So where would you rank the other 'classic' shows based on that? The Sopranos, for example, was that broken up enough, or did it just feel like one story? What about The Wire, where each season continued the previous but with a new theme introduced?
I can understand having different opinions, but praising Dexter for having almost individual seasons or appealing to different demographics as time goes on doesn't actually touch on the quality of it. Surely that's the most important thing? Although you would be hard pressed to find many people at all thinking the last year of Dexter was better than any of BB's seasons.
