The only thing I can think from the books is that Pod spends a lot of time with Brienne on her quest. So now Pod has saved Tyrion's life and is also so good at sex, whores refuse his money. It's hard to forget a character when he's doing stuff like this. Otherwise, he is very much in the background. Giving him this sex thing keeps him memorable, as he'll be with a major character a lot in the future.

LC's theory is the best explanation though, at least for sanity's sake. However, after Ros and Varys's conversation, it seems the refusal of payment was legit. This doesn't 100% mean it was, but it does seem that way now.

As for its relevance to the overall story, I can't find any either.

yeah, well I liked the fact that although cersei was humbled - she was right. it appears tywin is underestimating the tyrells. don't think that'll last with the sansa thing though - he'll see through that.

and yeah it's to give pod a "thing" - I don't see why they can't make him an interesting character via some other way. I personally loved his "name the flags" thing with tyrion in Storm.

Agreed. Not a fan of the Pod bit either, but it's not a big deal. Some people think it's funny so I guess it works for some.

Can't wait for Olenna and Tywin's scene.

By the way they pretty much confirmed Stoneheart.

I didn't notice it at first, but if you watch the Bran scene, Catelyn is wearing a thick scarf, she's clearly more aggressive, and some are saying they made her skin very pale. So that's good to know. I was worried how they were going to handle that. Also, some people said that scene also cleverly foreshadowed Bran's role in figuring out Jon's parentage because of the frantic "promise me" over and over and over in the scene. Obviously, Catelyn is not Jon's mother but they threw it in there to help foreshadow it.

I don't know if I buy the 2nd one, but looking at it again I definitely buy the 1st one. That was most certainly Stoneheart and was a good catch by the people who noticed it.

I immediately thought of Stoneheart too in that scene. I can't wait to see how they're gonna make her look. I know the actress is going to be great in the part.

She will play Stoneheart perfectly. She has that very, spooky look and tone to her voice. I think Stoneheart could actually be pretty damn scary.

Was a bit dissapointed that they did the Ramsay reveal already. It was building op nicely and now they rushed it a bit. Okay it happened at the end of book 2, but in the books Theon doesn't appear for a while so what are they going to do in the show with him?
