Re: SPOILER *all five books* THREAD FOR Game of Thrones (TV series discussion)

I think that's the right term.

I would be incredibly amused if the actors started chiming in on what they wanted their characters to be doing in book 6.

KIT- "You need to make me not die, because I want a job still in a few years, thanks."

House Martell isn't in this season so there's no reason to make a fuss about it.

i'll put that in spoilers just in case. if LC/mrmr think that for some reason that is spoiling something they can remove it themselves.
Look, the problem isn't your sig, or the quote. It's that you're going on about spoilers in the thread, and then have either direct spoilers, or implied spoilers in your signature. You don't see why that's a problem? How would non book readers know that either:

1-Jaime doesn't actually say that this season, or
2-It's directed at Jaime.

Either choice would make people think something was spoiled. And that's just as bad as an actual one.

It's very much like putting "I can't wait to warg Drogon!"- Bran Stark. It might not be real, it might not happen, but people would *think* that it's real, because, why wouldn't they? Go ahead and google "Red Viper". Without even clicking on links, you see results with him vs. the Mountain, and other things.

So if you want to be a spoiler nazi, cool. But don't be pissed when yours get pointed out in return.

Re: SPOILER *all five books* THREAD FOR Game of Thrones (TV series discussion)

well there's a difference between having a quote in your sig (from an unspecified time, at that) and discussing it in a thread where no spoilers are allowed. sure it's a bit dickish but IMO no one would pick up on it. whereas by saying "bran's actor is going to be really old", it's pretty obvious he's going to be around for at least past this season.

I mean my valar morghulis user title predates the show, I've had it for + a year. my location is the house of black and white. I don't consider these spoilers for the show unless you google them which...sure that's unfortunate but w/e

edit:

re: the reeds. it's probably easier to introduce them this season for casting reasons even ignoring that it adds filler to bran's story or actual "stuff" for him to do, which he's desperately short on while he waits to meet up with sam/coldhands. (there's a lot more "screen time" to happen in that story) so it gives him something to do while we wait and we get a little bit of history about the crannog men.

idrally theon wouuld have met reek last season but i can understand the budgetary reasons.

can't wait to meet house martell. I wonder will we see much of affc in s4? I think I'd almost move some greyjoy stuff in it? the kingsmoot, perhaps? it happens really close after balon died, so.

There's nothing wrong with the quote in Magic's sig. If someone were to type that quote into google then they are looking to be spoiled.

I like Bran's chapters, they are filled with foreshadowing and there is an intriguing mystery behind them. Lots of little clues to pick up.

Once you realize that Bran in the future is watching the events take place through the weirwoods and trying to influence people it gives new meaning to a lot of chapters.

Do we think it was Bran theon heard in the weirwood? Or just theon being FUCKING INSANE (well not really but come on)

bran has some great history of westeros stuff too. the story about the queen of love and beauty and lyanna (maybe?) winning that tourney was awesome.

Can't really see anything wrong with his signature unless you google it but whoever had 'Location: Attending the Funeral of the Lion of Lannister' should be fucking shot. I was right before that point in the books as well.

Here's the thing tho- personally, I don't care about it, I *know* it isn't a big spoiler, and I *know* it doesn't involve Jaime. But someone ignorant of the books *could* possibly be thinking that he's going to say those lines to someone this season. How is it any different than putting something fake in your sig and using "well it's not true, so therefore it's ok" as a reason?

When something is declared 'spoiler free', and there's a giant fuss over it, then it should be spoiler free, and inference free, of all things, at least while the show is upcoming and active. In any event, it's only a concern because if he's on a rampage about stuff that may or may not happen in season 7, then lines about something that FOR SURE happened should be in the same category.

But back into actual show/book stuff, is there any word yet on how the show is going to deal with AFFC and ADWD? I'm guessing they will be combined and then spread out, so actors don't have a forced year off. That might make for 3 or 4 seasons to get through those 2 books, which will be weird.

Probably more seasons than that, say book 6 takes 2 seasons, book 3 2, do you really think he'll be done with book 7 in 8 years? Is book 6 really coming out next year?

they can always do 18 months between a later season to give him more time, anyway.
