I'd have to agree that the Red Wedding is the best singular event in the series, but the end of SoS is just a huge series of crazy shit going down.

I cannot wait to see the epic amounts of butthurt that The Red Wedding will give to the non-readers.

Yeah, another Stark gone, Catelyn gone. And likely everyone will think Arya got killed too because Sandor hits her with the axe and we'll only find out she's alive in the next episode. People will NOT take kindly to that. I wonder if the Red Wedding will make people tune in or tune out.

Tune out. Television audiences are among the most sensitive people I've ever seen. They don't like change. They don't like brazenness in a story either.

It's why a show like CSI is on for 42 years when it's the same plot every episode. Murder, DNA finding, forensic testing, killer found, show over.

For some ungodly reason people seem to like the formulaic stories.

It will be INSANE. They will LOSE THEIR MINDS. Although anyone sticking around after for Joffreys death will go ballistic. Orgies in the streets happy.

Hell, a lot of the non readers I know are so pissed at Joffrey I can't even imagine when it gets closer. How the hell am I gonna keep a straight face all season?

ive only been following the tv series so far, would it be wise to begin reading the books now or wait till the tv series is over?

The books are fantastic. I'd read them. Book 4 is pretty slow and book 5 has some dragging parts too. I still like them a lot. Book 3, which will be the next two seasons, is about as good as fantasy can get. You will be spoiled of some MAJOR events of course.

Here's a teaser. You know that guy THE MOUNTAIN? He's in one of the best duels ever. The situation around the duel is unforgettable. It's incredible stuff.
