Re: SPOILER *all five books* THREAD FOR Game of Thrones (TV series discussion)
What are some funny moments or quotes from the book you'd like to share? Here are some I found:
Dany: "My brother says he could sweep the seven Kingdoms with 10,000 Dothraki"
Jorah: "Your brother couldn't sweep a stable with 10,000 brooms"
Eddard Stark: "We're outside the castle"
Littlefinger: "You're a hard man to fool Stark. Was it the sun or the sky that gave it away?"
Also, when Strong Belwas takes a dump and wipes his ass on the scarf of the guy he just killed...I found that hilarious. I just imagine Dany and her crew standing there all serious faced and defiant.
It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.

"A lovely belly, I have no doubt. Moisten it as often as you wish, but see that your dew falls nowhere else. I want no more nephews, is that clear?"
Tyrion to Ser Lancel

One of my favorite is from Arya Stark. "Maybe I've never saw a camel, but I know a camel's cunt when I smell one"
Yeah I am of the opinion that Hit-Girl was absolutely inspired by Arya Stark

I decided to quit the series after Joffrey died, my favorite character just gone all of a sudden. I actually put the book down and walked away. But I finally came back later and continued it. I like AFFC even if it isn't necessarily on the same level as the first three.

I still and will always maintain until proven otherwise by the ending of the series, that AFFC is a far more important book to the overall story then people realize, and that when the story is wrapped up, a second read through AFFC will make people realize that it's not as weak as they may originally have thought.
But, of course, I could be wrong on that and AFFC could wind up the weakest of the 7. I doubt it though.

Spoiler for Funnist moments:
Podrick Payne stood at the door of his solar, studying the floor. "He's inside," he announced to Tyrion's belt buckle. "Your solar. My lord. Sorry."
Tyrion sighed. "Look at me, Pod. It unnerves me when you talk to my codpiece, especially when I'm not wearing one. Who is inside my solar?"
"Lord Littlefinger." Podrick managed a quick look at his face, then hastily dropped his eyes. "I meant, Lord Petyr. Lord Baelish. The master of coin."
"You make him sound a crowd."
Dolorous Edd gems:
1. Once they figure a way to work a dead horse, we'll be next. Likely I'll be the first too. 'Edd,' they'll say, 'dying's no excuse for lying down no more, so get on up and take this spear, you've got the watch tonight.' Well, I shouldn't be so gloomy. Might be I'll die before they work it out.
2. The fat boy was shaking. Dolorous Edd put a hand on his shoulder. "Brother," he said solemnly, "just because it happened that way for you doesn't mean Samwell will suffer the same."
[Chett]"What are you talking about, Tollett?"
"The axe that split your skull. Is it true that half your wits leaked out on the ground and your dogs ate them?"
3. "I never win anything," Dolorous Edd complained. "The gods always smiled on Watt, though. When the wildlings knocked him off the Bridge of Skulls, somehow he landed in a nice deep pool of water. How lucky was that, missing all those rocks?"
"Was it a long fall?" Grenn wanted to know. "Did landing in the pool of water save his life?"
"No," said Dolorous Edd. "He was dead already, from that axe in his head. Still, it was pretty lucky, missing the rocks."
"Nothing ever goes missing that they don't look at me, ever since that time I lost my horse. As if that could be helped. He was white and it was snowing, what did they expect?"
(When Sam's practicing with a bow and hits a tree) "Might have punctured a lung, if he had a lung. Most trees don't, as a rule."
Never trust a cook! They'll prune you when you're least expecting it!
That's why King Stannis penned the wildings up here. He means us to eat them! (Regarding the fact winter is coming and provisions are low.)
"We will defend the wall to the last man!" - Said Cotter Pyke.
"Probably me." - Dolorous Edd, in a resigned tone.
"He said for you to join him. Best leave the wolf outside, he looks hungry enough to eat one of Craster's children. Well, truth be told,*I'm* hungry enough to eat one of Craster's children, so long as he was served hot"
Dolorous Edd - "I just want to say to whoever is voting for me that I would certainly make an awful Lord Commander. But so would all these others.”
These books are full of black humor. Just look at sig.

Ed's obvious basis (and I love it)
