Re: SPOILER *all five books* THREAD FOR Game of Thrones (TV series discussion)
I bet Benihoff will end up having to write his own ending. GRRM is old and takes like 10 years a book, honestly wouldn't be surprised if the dude croaks before he finishes.

It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.

That's all ready weird for me, because the actor who plays Bran is 14 right now, and I figure the TV show will go for at least 3-5 more years. So that means by the time the TV show is over he's going to be 17-19 years old.
Hodor won't be carrying that around, and his voice is all ready beginning to deepen.
I think they've all ready put Bran in a wheel barrel or something strange like that.

He's probably trolling and has the books already written like alot of authors do.

... or so says Stephen King

Someone call Brandon Sanderson. He could finish it. And quickly.

If it's still going to be 7 books and he's written 5, he already should know mostly what he needs to write, it's just getting to the end, and finishing it. Unless he really doesn't know yet....and then we're all fucked.

Seeing as nothing happened within the 2000 pages of books 4 and 5 I think it's a pretty good assumption that he has no idea where to go from here.
Nothing happens in the sample chapters I've read from the next book either.

Nothing happened? I'm convinced you didn't read those pages.

Where do whores go?
Barristan, Connington, and Victarion all bossed it in book 5, so some stuff happened.

Re: SPOILER *all five books* THREAD FOR Game of Thrones (TV series discussion)
Trifektah, I think you're mission the point. The reason a lot of stuff didn't happen(even though a fair bit did) in Dance is that George needed to get Dany, Tyrion, Barristan, Victarion and Jorah all in the same place, with it all making sense and fitting.
Winds is gonna be an awesome book. This is what we potentially have:
The Battle of Mereen
Dany uniting the Khalasars
Cersei's trial
The Battle for Winterfell
Jaime/Brienne/Cat
A possible Ironborn raid on Oldtown, with Sam, Alleras and Jaqen all present.
Jon more than likely warging Ghost and learning about The Others
Aegon attacking and taking Kings Landing
Arya being sent to kill someone important
LITTLEFINGER AND SANSA
The whole point of Feast and Dance was for Martin to put all the pieces in their place, nd to start setting shit up. Shit is about to hit the fan soon, everyone is where he needs them to be.
Also, I've come across a couple of interesting theories, to do with the show. One is that Talisa(DAT ASS) is secretly a Lannister spy and was sent by Tywin to get close to Robb, and will help orchestrate the Red Wedding. Another is that Talisa could take Jeyne Poole's place, and instead of having the whole fake Arya deal, we get Ramsay forcing Talisa to marry him, as he would have the right to rule Winterfell even then.

Re: SPOILER *all five books* THREAD FOR Game of Thrones (TV series discussion)
Book 6 is going to be insane. As 8 ball said Feast and Dance were used set everything up, Don't forget the first 3 books are essentially one book as that is what GRRM originally planned, we are now finishing up the second part of the trilogy setting up the awesome finale. I can't frigging wait.
My one worry is I have this horrible nagging feeling it's never going to be finished and all the questions will be left unanswered
