Yeah, she'd rather have Daario.

God I miss the hound.
And I know Martin's not about battles and duels so much....but another fight like oberyn vs mountain would be amazing!

The inevitable Sandor vs. Gregor duel is gonna be emotional that's for sure. Maybe even Jaime vs. Brienne if Martin decides to go down that route.

Jon Connington is a great character and his POV's are great. Their almost poetic in a way, he's one of the few guys you really do root for. It's a shame he's guaranteed to die at some point but I really hope he gets closure before he does kick the bucket. I think everyone agrees that Connington was in love with Rhaegar as well?

Yeah there is no question that he loves Rhaegar in every way.

Brienne killing Jaime would be pretty crazy. It might be cliche, but I see her sacrificing herself for him, so he can be volanqar for Cersei. Cersei is going to have commit some pretty grievous atrocity for Jaime to be motivated to kill her. Pretty sure he's grown to despise to her, but she's still the mother of his children. Don't worry though, Cersei has a few atrocities left in her before this tale is done.

Most people here think the volanqar will be Tyrion, Jaime, or STANNIS?

As for the final battle, having Jaime, Davos, Stannis, Jon Snow AA, Tyrion, Barristan, Victarion, etc could be kinda awesome. Oh and dragons. I have to think at least one dragon won't make it to Westeros though. LOL what if none of them make it?

I hope the Hound vs. the Mountain doesn't happen. What I like about this book series is that its characters (and readers) don't get what they want.

Every reader seems to think it's Sandor Clegane's destiny to kill Gregor Clegane but I just don't want it to happen.

Gregor is already dead. It was just a really slow agonizing death. Oberyn killed him with that poison, or Qyburn finished him off. I give credit to the Viper though. So Sandor won't ever get his revenge even if he slays Ser Robert Strong.

He might just mercy kill Gregor. That'd be a rather unsatisfying way to kill his brother, for Sandor.

I think to gain the power and position he has he's more than an opportunist. He's obviously respected as a Battle Commander for a reason. Now, he may not be no Robb or Stannis but that doesn't mean he's not feared. He also underestimated Robb, which led to more than a few losses. Don't forget the Lannisters were fighting Stannis (And tywin masterminded that, sure Tyrion held the city but Tywin did break Stannis.

edit: oops sorry, double post. thought I was editing but new tab.

I think we're all forgetting about QYBURN, what's his intentions? Surely he's not loyal to Cersei, there must be more to him.

Actually, I don't think he's not loyal, if that makes sense. As long as he can conduct his experiements he probably doesn't give a fuck who's in charge. Cersei's mad and will allow that so he's happy for the moment. He's creepy, though.
