The swordplay is gritty and realistic though. There isn't one man fending off/killing countless orcs. Unless it's someone like The Hound, all numbers games end badly for the outnumbered.

I'm going to go find some of the books this week at some point when I have time (shouldn't be hard). Would like to have read the first one by the time the show starts.

The first book does start off a bit slow. The payoff is there though once shit starts to hit the fan. The books get better and better until book 4, but that's only because...well I can't say anymore.
Well I think AGOT starts off fairly big, slows down for a little while, then shit starts to get real. Indeed the books do start to get better and better, but I think AGOT has more surprise twists while ACOK has a better story and ''WTF'' moments. Book 4's great for character development.
Prolly should keep book discussion out of here, since there's a fucking massive thread for it. Emilia Clarke imo, looks like there may be some sort of lesbian scene from the preview, and I'm sure she'll be naked at some stage too since it's HBO.
