re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)
Haven't been following this thread so don't know if it's been discussed, but has anyone been watching the second season of Psychoville? Just watched the finale, pretty damn good episode. The start of the season was a little confusing, and felt as underwhelming as the end of season 1 did, but now I can look back on it as a whole, I think it was great.
For a 6-part season like that, the story as a whole was impressive. Lots of twists, turns, Macguffins and diversions used to keep you on your toes. I think I actually prefer it to the League Of Gentleman now.

I just finished Season 4 of The Wire. This is gonna have major spoilers, but if you've watched The Wire or up until Season 4 then read it motherfucker.
Spoiler for The Wire:
Just finished Season 4, was a quality season. Best show I've ever seen, hands down. In contrast to many others though, Season 4 is not my favorite. I find Season 1 better. Season 4 is fantastic and all, but I was a bigger fan of the Barksdale Organization and the Major Crimes unit all working together. In Season 4 most of them are split up and such. S4 did not have a lot of Jimmy McNulty, and I wasn't that big a fan of Colvin's storyline with the bad kids in the special classroom. Also this season had no Avon Barksdale (who we all know is fucking awesome).
Season 4 did however have what I thought was the most powerful ending to an episode that I have ever seen. I'm talking about when Randy's foster mother is in critical condition. And you see the scene of a helpless Carver walking away, while Randy is mocking him about his promised protection. If you have seen it, then I am sure you would agree with me. I might be leaving out a more better ending, but this one just stuck out to me a lot. I also like the fact that at this point in the series you start identifying with characters that you were supposed to hate in the beginning. When Bodie died holy cow, I was shocked as hell. He grew on me a lot and started turning into a great character and it was sad to see his fate.
This show has so many great characters. I liked Cutty's character since day one. Its impossible to hate this guy. Really also like Bubbles and felt bad for him all season long getting tormented by a bully. It was also sad to see Bubz break down with the death of Serrod. Prez is probably the best part of Season 4. Holy cow, dude was a major klutz of a police officer, but he made a great teacher and it showed with his genuine care for all of his students. Dude's got so much heart, and grew into one of the best characters. Having not watched Season 5, I don't know what happens to Marlo, but I fucking hate him. I guess that's a good thing because I'm sure that is what's intended. Snoop is pretty cool though, entertaining as hell.
I don't know when I'm gonna start Season 5. Don't wanna rush into it because after its done I'm gonna be craving more in despair. So I think I'll take it slower for the last season.

I think I prefer season 4 to season 1, but I can see an argument for both. The lack of Jimmy was disturbing though, don't worry he's back as a main character is season 5. How cool is Cutty? The last two episodes of this season are the best two hours of anything I have ever watched, on tv or film. The story line involving Randy was sad as hell, and what I think was even more powerful than the ending you mentioned, was the scene with Carver in the car after he drops Randy off at the home. Really tragic. Prez turned in to one of my favorite characters in the show after this season. Another scene I loved was Bodie talking to McNulty in the park on the bench. It was a surprise to see Namand get the happy ending, I always thought it would be Dukie, but no, not in The Wire. Life doesn't work that way.

I finished The Wire. Was gonna go slow with Season 5 but thought against it. Season 5 is easily the worst, but still a good season. It had its moments, but then had some shit I think could have been done better. Overall though, phenomenal series and glad I watched it.
Does anyone watch Boardwalk Empire? Omar Little apparently has a good role in that series, and he alone makes me interested.
