Jesus I really want to start it again now, I've watched the whole thing 2 times and I still want to watch it again. It was even better the second time around by the way, there are small things you don't notice the first time, just things like bits of dialogue in the first season that get referenced again later on. An example is when...

Kind of spoilers...

Without spoiling too much, in season 1 Omar is in the station with Bunk and Bunk tells him that everyone has got to have a code. Omar says it to Bunk in season 4 in an awesome scene that just reflects on everything the two have been through. Epic.

I'm announcing that I've finished Season 3. Apparently Season 4 of The Wire is not only regarded as the best of the series, but highly regarded as the best series of television ever written. That's crazy. Can't wait to start.

too much Wire in this motherfucker. there's other TV gents, let's chat about it.

finished season 1 of Deadwood today. one of the most complex shows i've seen in recent times. such a large story with each character having such a pivotal role, its monumental with how well they were able to write it. i can't speak enough about how well they captured the setting too, i can practically smell the sawdust and whiskey. the ensemble cast is remarkable, and i've grown to love just about all of the characters.

except E.B. Farnum, he can go fuck himself. he's a solid character, i just hate him.

just got season 2 today and i can't wait to start it. seeing Timothy Olyphant transition through the season finale was epic. with Justified off the air, i was missing badass Olyphant, but he's bringing it in spades here.

i'd be interested to know where Deadwood stands among excessive usage of the F word. i don't remember a show to this date where i've heard it so much. i'm pretty sure there's an average somewhere of 1 fuck per minute, and thats mainly because Ian McShane busts out 3 every 10 seconds.

Al Swearangen is definitely my favorite character. there are a lot of other characters that are close though. I thought Eddie Sawyer, Cy's friend/partner, played by Ricky Jay, was fantastic. he had some of the best dialogue of the show just in his few sentences, ultimate man of words of wisdom.

but if the other two seasons carry anything like the first one, this show is definitely headed to my favorites.

No more Ricky Jay sadly. But you'll get Garrett Dillahunt back as Mr. W and after that Major Dad.

There might be more "cocksuckers" than variations of "fuck" said in Deadwood.

The only bad thing about Deadwood was that there were only three seasons. Besides McShane being the best of the bunch, Powers Booth and Gerald McRaney bring it every scene they're in. McRaney doesn't show up until season 3 unfortunately.

Also, I loved Keith Carradine's down on his luck and doomed gunslinger Wild Bill Hickock. Oh yeah, and JANE. Really everyone is great and that's a testament to the writing. Can't say enough about those sets too. No other show transports you to another time like Deadwood save perhaps Band of Brothers.

wait, what? Dillahunt comes back? i assume Mr. W is of no relation to McCall? i actually spoke to Dillahunt's agent once for a short webseries project. true facts.

the Hickock/McCall thing was done beautifully. loved the foreshadowing throughout their feud.

this might be the best i've ever seen of Powers Booth. when he was handling Veronica Mars and her associate, that whole scene reeked of awesome.

Yeah he does come back for some odd reason (other than he's fantastic in both parts). McCall and W are so different it's hard to notice.

I think my favorite Deadwood characters were Mr. Woo and Richardson.

I know they're not main characters but god damn were they both awesome especially Richardson.

Oh and Charlie Utter.

That guy plays such a great character (who's also doing a wonderful job currently as the cheif of police on Sons Of Anarchy)

SOA is funny as they not only have Charlie Utter, but also Adams (who was awesome) and Hearst's Aunt Lou.

While Justified has Bullock plus other Deadwood alumni like Dan and Johnny in guest spots.

I'm thinking the president of FX is just a really big Deadwood fan.

The word "fuck" was said 43 times in the first hour of the show. It has also been reported that the series had a total count of 2,980 "fucks" and an average of 1.56 utterances of "fuck" per minute of footage.

Gotta love Deadwood.

and i love how 90% of that is Ian McShane. if his character didn't exist, the word "fuck" would be all but forgotten.

not sure if any show can compete with that. i've never watched the Sopranos, but i have heard theres a lot of swearing going on there as well.

anyway, just got through the first episode of the second season, and its already getting better. Swearengen/Bullock is a feud for the ages.
