I'm 6 episodes into Rome. Really disliked the first episode, but its really growing now. Glad I'm watching.

The Wire is on deck, for when I'm done with this.

So I finished The Wire, needless to say it was fucking brilliant.

I have finished Uni now so the last month has consisted entirely of starting Battlestar Galactica (just started season 3) and now Mad Men (Almost finished season 1) which are both great. BSG is so awesome, almost considering it better than The Wire and Mad Men is just cool as fuck. Draper is a boss.

Thank goodness i'm glad someone else is praising BSG for once, show is way overlooked. I'm just about to start The Wire as I haven't seen it yet. I'm pretty pumped.

Whoa, you're supposed to wait till I finish Rome so we can start The Wire simultaneously.

BSG is so good. It's sad people will miss it out just because it's set in space. The characters are some of the best I have ever seen in any medium, Gaius Baltar is a brilliant character.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)

I just rewatched the entire series actually and convinced one of my buddies to check it out, he says he enjoys it so far but he's only a few episodes in. And yeah its kind of a shame that many people would pass the show up because its Sci-Fi but its about as far away from Star Trek or more conventional Sci-Fi series get. More akin to Blade Runner in space really.

I think season 3 is the weakest season, due to some episodes that really kind of come off as filler but there is a plot twist coming up that is so good when I first saw it I literally sat there dumbfounded for about 5 minutes, I can't say anymore than that though. Oh and if you can make sure you watch the extended version of the Unfinished Business episode, one of if not the best episode of the entire series IMO.

I fucking knew it

The Wire was a phenomenal series. I recently moved in with a friend of mine who hasn't seen The Wire or Breaking Bad, I think a TV marathon is in order.

Yeah, I heard from someone else that series 3 is the weakest, but I bet it's still better than most stuff out there. It's one of the most gripping things I have ever watched, the middle of season 2 with the Pegasus storyline was epic. There was one episode in the season that came off as filler which was the Black Market episode, still good though.

Can't wait to see what happens lol. Just watched the first episode of season 3 and it was great.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)

McQueen, you can start The Wire now. I'll probably start it later today.

I finished Rome. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Ray Stevenson and James Purefoy were quite epic as Titus Pollo and Mark Antony, respectively. Pretty mad that the show got canceled, because of it being expensive of all reasons. I think they handled the second season quite well, especially with knowing the second would be their last beforehand. I think for the most part the show was consistent with history. I read up on Caesar's death and think they might have nailed it with the show. Sad to see them shorten stuff, because I'm sure long term they had good things planned for us.

If anyone knows any other historical show (besides The Tudors), give me some suggestions.
