I actually kinda hate Ron in Party Down. The fact I'm not crazy about the main character but I still love Season 1 speaks volumes for the show. Jane Lynch is indeed fantastic in it, especially that Sweet Sixteen episode. Season 2 drops off a tad but it's still good. I'd call Season 1 great though. Agreed on Adam Scott and Lizzy Caplan's chemistry rocking too.

Of course. The dual episode was one of the strongest of the season which is really saying a lot. Everything from 'Women In Garbage' onwards has been as good as anything the show has done previously. The early Season 5 episodes are still very good, but this stretch at the minute is just of another quality entirely.

Maaaan, I think Ron' just a character that plays to humour I dig a bunch. The way he brown noses and tries constantly to impress people whilst trying not to freak out and slip back into his old habits. He's pitiful, irritating but there's just something about him where I dig that about the character and think it lends itself well to the rest of the team as the constantly overwhelmed and stressed boss. His antics in the Young Conservatives Episode with the flag in particular was stellar.

So much good stuff to take away from both episodes. In both humor and show/character development. My heart is attached to these wonderful characters. Felt it in the wedding episode. I knew Andy would have a new story on the horizon after it was left off with his future. (I'll try and be vague for "spoilers" sake without spoiler tags ahhh) I'm looking forward to what's going to come with it now. Andy is too good at being lovable. This story is definately going to showcase that some more, I'm certain. The episodes continued to give me some more grand - and oh so grand - Jerry goodness. Leave it to him to be the original intended fault for Leslie's embarrassment. STAR WARS references thrown in the episode later, too. <3

Don't even get me started on the "Oh no. I just opened up a can of whoop-ass on myself." line.

I couldn't stop laughing during the entire commercial break.

Jerry in the corner refusing dessert under Leslie's orders had me in fits. Any episode with two scenes with Perd is also a surefire money maker. Now all we need to ensure the legacy of the show is for Perd Hapley to report on Jean Ralphio's incarceration for counterfitting Euros.

Special mention to the emotion and real conversations in the wedding episode. This didn't have the pitfalls or forcing emotion where it felt tacky, when Ron says he cares and respects Leslie you know its profound and truthful and feels like a big step for someone like him to say such a thing, of course he still says it in such a dry tone that you can't infer he's any less of a man for having feelings. The whole ensemble is just pitch perfect and play off one another. Not a muck savage amongst them, aside from Jamm.

Watched THAT episode of Person of Interest then TWO episodes of Parks last night. Hot shit. Nobody here watches BOTH shows right? Faggots the lot of y'all.

POI
Spoiler for poi:
My favourite episode of the entire series and they basically neglected the entire main cast for 90% of the episode. How many other shows could even try that let alone pull it off. Those god damn motherfuckers. The premise of the episode in itself was magnificent but the new chick they brought in to play Shaw was crazy good. Every bit as badass as Reese and HOT? Hot damn. I was literally freaking out the entire episode from the fucking opening credits getting fucked over. Honest to god might be my favourite episode of any show ever. Man I so hope Shaw becomes a semi regular character at least from here. Cutting bullets out of her victim so she doesn't leave a trace? Shoving grenades up a guys gas mask? That iron scene with Root? Heart. Taken. Temporarily stomped on for a second when it looked as though they'd killed her off. Just for a brief second I thought they'd actually killed her off because this show has never shied back from killing off major antagonists without a second thought for them. Then Fusco and Carter turned up and I was freaking out again. Loved Leon's little cameo too. They need more of their past characters to randomly turn up to help them out like Leon does. Shaw as Reese's second in the future is something I'd go crazy for. I love how even in an episode this intense they can throw in enough POI style humour with Finch and Reese. Finch's "do you think she'll call us a taxi?" at the end was classic POI. I love the names they come up with for these secret departments too. HR. Control. So in one episode they took maybe the dullest plot of the POI universe and made it the most exciting one. THIS SHOW. I was relieved when Shaw shot the Control guy at the party too because I'm not sure I could take him seriously as a long term antagonist. Anyone's who watched Boardwalk Empire will know why. That was pointless. Cal doesn't watch it and we're the only troopers watching this. God damn it. This show might have just surpassed Ashes To Ashes/Life On Mars for best soundtrack ever too. The Kills at the end? Perfection. They get the track at the end of the episode on the money so often. One day I'll get Craig to watch this and he'll search this post out and smile.

I might have to actually watch BSG to get Eric and Bubz to watch POI. Damn it. My favourite show running right now other than Parks. Incredible.

PARKS
Spoiler for parks:
The Wedding was beautiful. I love how Parks can go from hysterical comedy to an episode like that completely based around soppy emotions and character work. Chris' wedding present to Ben was the nicest thing ever. Loved the flashbacks too. Subtle and sweet. 2nd episode was more vintage Parks. Glorious. I didn't think it was feasible for Season 5 to out do Season 4 but it's done it already. Jerry gags galore and they never get old. Jerry standing in the corner having to turn down the desserts only to find the script in his shoe later. Classic. Chris is quickly becoming my favourite character this season. Clearly been going to the Adam Scott school of facial expressions. On it like a car bonnet in those 2 episodes this week. Possibly the best Chris moment ever when Ann says she's running to a meeting with Ron and Chris thinks it's a great idea and starts sprinting down the halls. Classic. Ron and Ann's scenes have been great this season and came out of nowhere. Is there even a less than brilliant dynamic between two characters or a dynamic that's too similar? THIS SHOW. PERD HAPLEY cameo. Nailed it. Again. Rashida Jones is mad cute right now too. If I made an EP I'd totally write her a whole rap. Man I hope that didn't go over everyone's heads. Love you and like you.

You nailed it with the Parks overview. Even if an episode doesn't have numerous funny lines the strong writing and character interaction carries the show. Their ability to do a sombre and heartfelt wedding whilst injecting comedy throughout and then doing a classic Parks episode immediately after is just sensational.

POI will be my next show to watch after Party Down. Its newer so less to watch and all the talk interests me. Some day I'll start The Wire, The Shield, Justified and numerous other shows.

Oh fuck. It's not an instant hit fyi. It takes maybe the first half of Season 1 to really get going and for Jim Caviezel to really nail the role but once that happens.... boy oh boy. So much fun. Season 2 has been off the charts so far.

Looking forward to it then. Seen it pimped enough to finally give it a watch and the length of The Shield and The Wire is putting me off wanting to watch 'em in spite of the fact I'm certain I'll be a big fan of both.

Agreed on Rashida Jones atm. Stunning woman and going neck and neck with Aubrey Plaza for my favourite gal on the show. Leslie's dress was also superb for the wedding.
