Re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)

I'm currently watching Sherlock and it's pretty damn good. I kept hearing about it and reading positive reviews. With it being an English show, most people in America have no idea about it because it's not on the same networks that air X-Factor, American Idol, Glee, Modern Family, or America's Got Talent. I enjoyed Benedict Cumberbatch in TTSS and once I found out he plays Sherlock and Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson, that gave me more incentive to download and give it a shot. I'm halfway through the first episode and I really, really enjoy it so far. I can tell this is one of those shows where I'll watch every single episode back-to-back in the span of a day or two.

Anybody from the UK have any suggestions as to other shows that we don't get in America, that are good? I heard Idris Elba is starring in a TV show but I can't remember the name. I enjoy any kind of drama or action type show. Please no Geordie Show.

LUTHER is the Elba show I'm 99% sure. Haven't seen it, but it got the Faraday seal of approval so it's probably good.

Miranda, which is a comedy, it's just 'fun', but seeing it for yourself instead of descriptions is obviously better, it airs on BBC.

A lesser known one, although it does air in the US is 'An Idiot Abroad'.

I watch both, An Idiot Abroad just finished it's 3rd and last season, but as MrMister said, there are shows like Luther, which I know has gone down well, although I don't watch it, there was one called Hustle, which ran for quite a while, but it's in the same boat as Luther for me.

Was making my way through the US version of The Office recently and was pleasantly surprised to see an Idris Elba cameo as one of the corporate bosses. He's only in about three episodes and doesn't do all that much. Was still cool though.

Leave and never come back. Shameful.

Sherlock and Luther are on my list of shows to watch. Or that I keep telling myself I'll watch. Someday....
