Up to midway Season 3 of Community now. Still loving the show.
Troy (moreso Donald Glover) has now overtaken Abed as my favourite. He just seems to steal every scene he's in and he's more versatile in his humour. He's great at physical comedy, great at overacting in certain scenes to really get across the humour and make you laugh more than you should, the times when they play up how naive he is (thinking you're 10 for 2 years because his mum told him that, making a notch for 'notches' when he sees Jeff and Britta making notches in the table against each other) and the way they play on the satirical gay relationship between him and Abed. Seeing the way they both look at each other in awe in the Paintball sequel episode or in Season 3 when Abed is telling a horror story and starts to hum the entire song to fit his idea of logic and you see Troy as the only person getting into it rather than staring in shock.
Britta continues to be one of the most hateable characters on the show, yet still terrific because of how they bring up all her faults and weaknesses as a character. The way she reacts in agony at them using her name as code for 'messing up' was almost good as the Season 1 halloween episode where Starburns says he's leaving Annie's party to watch the news and Annie lets out this hilariously pathetic squeek when saying 'NEWS?".
Some of the standout moments:
Pierce buying the rights to Troy and Abed's handshake and then Troy acting like a prostitute selling his body whilst Pierce taunts him. Troy then pulling his jacket over to 'hide his body' just completed the quality in that scene.
Troy freaking out in the private room when Pierce arranges for LeVar Burton to arrive and Troy's in agony because he's too star-struck to speak to him. The bit later in the episode where he's singing in the bathroom and then begins to cry may have eclipsed it.
The Paintball episode: "Everyone look alive. Good enough Leonard".
The entire 'Remedial Chaos Theory' episode and especially the running gag that Troy hates the troll Pierce gives him. The best is when its his turn to get the Pizza and he returns to see the place on fire and Pierce shot in the leg. Seeing the troll surrounded by a ring of fire and Troy screaming like his arch enemy is back to ruin his life was the perfect payoff to the gag. The bit at the end where Britta says he tried to kill the Troll by eating it and crushing his larynx in the process and Troy replying "You clearly haven't read up on how to defeat trolls" was also hilarious.
Dean Pelton in general. From the collection of his cross dressing outfits with poor related puns (Feline Aids week dressed as CatWoman was close to being my favourite, but then he had to get into Tina Turner drag to talk about 'turnering the clocks back'.
Jeff as the Dean in the Greendale Commerical. Holy christ I remember McQueen saying that was amazing and he wasn't wrong.
Also Pierce in the D&D episode. "I'm sorry I can't hear you over the sound of rubbing your sword against my balls".
FUCK! Almost forgot Alison Brie's Santa song in the Christmas episode. Eyes were fully glued to the screen.
