re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)
Breaking Bad is top of my list of TV shows to start getting into.
Psych I'm rather interested in as well. Seems alot of people enjoy it so it could be worth checking out.

Watched the first episode of Burn Notice yesterday.
Quite liked it, enjoyed the sarcastic bits.

first season of Burn Notice is boss.
HBO travesties were mentioned ...
no great injustice than canceling ROME after two seasons. Horrible decision. Just horrible.

Rome cost a ton of money. But yeah, sucks it got canceled. Great stuff.
Watch Game of Thrones. It's similar enough and should be far better based on the novels.

Buying the Sopranos boxset for Christmas, heard good things for the most part so looking forward to it.

Nah I'm the same, I think it took 3/4 episodes before I really felt I was watching some great. The Omar 'Come at the King, best not miss' line probably completely sealed it for me.

Got the Rome blu rays waiting for me once I've finished Oz. Really looking forward to watching it.
Didn't Deadwood get cancelled for the same expense reasons? Guess it can't be cheap recreating sets like those.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)
Some shows i would definitely recommend to people would be:
Fringe - Absolutely love this! my fav show right now. The first 10 or so episodes of season 1 are not amazing, altough still decent, but after that the show really starts to own. Any who likes interesting, thought provoking shows, should give this a try.
Criminal Minds - My fav crime drama! Season 6 is quite weak so far, but the first 5 seasons, especially 1-3, are must watch tv for crime enthusiasts.
Supernatural - Fun show, which actually has quite a good and deep back story that develops along the seasons. Its on season 6 right now, and although the show has changed a bit, its still moving along well.
Only Fools and Horses - An old British comedy, but WOW! Hilarious! season 2-4 are the best, but the rest are very strong also.

I'm only on the third season so far, but I'm definitely a fan. Actually finished up the first season of this around the same time I finished up the first season of The Wire, and at that point I was definitely more looking forward to season 2 of this than season 2 of The Wire.
Finished up season 2 of both about a week apart, and now it's definitely the other way around.

Took me a little longer than that, but Omar was still a character that I was really invested in. Everything he does in season 2 is amazing, the peak for me being him on the witness stand.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)
I really like The Event. Hated the pilot, but because I didn't start watching it straight away when it started I was able to watch the first 4 episodes in a row and I really got into it. Yeah, its obvious they are trying to be the "new lost" and not doing a great job at it, but aside from the god awful ending Lost was like, the greatest TV show ever most of the time . Comparing the two will obviously make The Event look shit, so I try to avoid doing that, and like I said, I really like it.
Californication coming back on Jan 10th is awesomesauce. So fucking glad Andy got me into it. MOODY~! is probably one of the best TV characters ever. Top 5 easy.
Anyone else watch Leverage? Last 2 eps of season 3 aired on Sunday, and as usual it was awesome. Not quite the big ending that season 1 and 2 had, but I guess they can't go with the same formula every season finale. Definitely one of my favourite shows on TV right now, can't wait for season 4 . Also, the main bad guy for the season 3 finale was pretty much Alberto Del Rio lol.

Rome was hella expensive becuase they shot it on location, and Romes the most expensive place to shoot on earth.
I recall hearing the Thrones budget is about the same but since they are shooting in a less costly place they are able to do more.
