Ralphie was an epic douchebag. That part of the show was great.

Wouldn't put The Sopranos on the same level as The Wire but still a great show. Watched the entire series like 3 times till date.

You see i'm the complete opposite, I watched 'the wire' after watching (and absolutley adoring) 'the sopranos' and felt that 'the wire' was a tad overated, was still a good show don't get me wrong it just doesnt have the near perfect blend of drama, comedy and action that 'the sopranos' does, plus in my experience apart from McNulty you don't really feel invested in any of the characters in 'the wire' as opposed to 'the Sopranos' where you end up actually wanting to see how the characters finish up.

I watched The Wire after watching The Sopranos too. Two shows that had a very different approach to the world of crime and really can't compare against each other. It comes down to everyone's personal tastes I reckon. Would take away nothing from either show. Both in my top 5 of all time best shows.

the bolded absolutely SHOCKS the fuck out of me. really? Mcnulty may the 'main character' but he was definitely not in the top 10 of characters i had investment in. d'angelo/stringer/bubbles/bodie/frank sobatka/dukie etc etc were all characters I genuinely got invested in.

Picked up Justified yesterday. Probably plow through it this week before season 2 starts.

Yeah, I just never really got sold on the characters in the wire (aside from Mcnulty), I think as has already been stated it's 'each to their own' really with these two and regardless of how I feel about the wire (as I said before it's not like i'm saying its bad, it's just I don't get the huge amounts of hype it receives, where as I feel the sopranos actually justifies it's hype) I can still say its the only TV show that comes anywhere close to rivaling Sopranos.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)

Finished the first season of Spartacus today. Fucking epic show. Blood, gore, and sex, baby. Pretty gutted that Andy Whitfield has an ailment and is out of Season 2. Still looking forward to it though. Glad I started watching this show.

I'm now obsessed with Viva Bianca (Ilithyia). God damn she's good.
