The only time an american adaptation of a British series was decent was The Office.

NBC really needs to stick to mockumentaries or stealing concepts from the UK at least. I'm watching the WrestleMania on NBC thing and holy shit all of their new comedies look like they will be AWFUL.

Homeland is an adaption of some British Mini Series or something and that was the best new show last year.

I think I just marked out for Vladamir Kozlov being a henchmen driving a car in the second season of the wire.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)

Says something that after Season 4 Dexter would have been a show I wouldn't have missed for anything. Now I'm not even hesitating in watching the greatness that is Homeland over it.

Be really interested to see where they take Homeland this coming season, I'd happily call it the best new show of the past year (although I seemed to like it slightly less than McQueen and a couple of others) and am really intrigued to see if they can maintain such a high standard of quality amidst all the awards and potential new interest the show will now have to contend with.
