Madmen is excellent but its kind a thing you're going to either love or hate. I was hesitant before watching it too since its basically just a show about people but its pretty interesting if you are willing to give it a chance.

The Wire is a super gritty & more realistic cop show that follows both the cops & dealers. Its amazing stuff.

Tried to get into The Wire watching it on the Audience Network but the episodes were too far into the seasons for me to know what the hell was going on. I also don't trust my connection for HBO go.

I had to watch the pilot episode of The Wire a few times since I felt a bit lost right away since it jumps right in. But yeah The Wire is not a show you can pull a Rated R and try and start watching it towards the end and appreciate everythings thats happening.

I did that with season 2 of SOA and it took me a while to figure out all the different gangs, the names of the people and what had happened to Donna. I assume it'd be a lot worse for The Wire and BB.

Keeping up with SOA is like paint by numbers in comparison to The Wire but I get your point.

Could imagine going into GOT next season not having watched it before?

I had to watch the first three episodes of The Wire twice. Season 2 is so different from the rest of the series, but I think that's what makes it so great and unique.

So what's the basic story of Mad Men? No spoilers or anything if that's possible.
