Just recently rewatched the HBO Miniseries The Corner, it's 6 hours of amazing fucking television and every time I get to the end I cry like a baby.
Powerful television.

Still need to watch that, as well as Homicide: Life on the Street. David Simon's work is definitely intriguing.

re watching Prison Break series 1. fuck i forgot how much steam this show loses halfway through the season. all the momentum they had has been destroyed by the 14th episode.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)
Been watching a bunch of classic Simpons episodes from Season 4-9 recently and just watched 'And Maggie makes three' from Season 6.
Jesus christ its amazing how brilliantly the show used to mix great visual gags and humour but still project a very real and important message that numerous viewers could relate to. I mean how they got so many laughs from me out of an episode which centred on an unplanned birth affecting a low income family and forcing a Dad to quit his dream job and work day in and day out at a job he despises which ultimately leads to him even resenting her impending birth is just staggering and a true testament to the quality of the writing back when they mixed real issues into the bizzare and quirky world of Springfield.
And of course the ending is probably one of the most emotional/touching from any show, let alone an animation comedy.

Lost interest in House a few years ago so not really sad its ending. Should have ended when he went to the nut house IMO.

I've always said the same thing, Season 5 was a perfect time to end it.
Won't spoil it for people who haven't yet seen it but it would have been a satisfying ending.
Full Circle.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)
I read about "House", as well as what one of the cast members "tweeted". Sad for all the fans, but think I maybe watched 1 ep ever, so not that much to me.
I didn't like all the callbacks in the "Chuck" finale, most of which I only read about. Not everyone has all the DVDs, so we all won't enjoy that the way the writers/creators might.
I also thought the "Sarah's lost memory" bit was just a sad excuse for recall, waterworks, etc. at the end of a show.

Season 6 was truly the golden period of The Simpsons, it's a shame to see what the show has become nowadays. it may get a few laughs here and there but they always feel forced and unnatural compared to back then when jokes would flow effortlessly, christ i miss the old simpsons
