Beavis: "So she's going to call her grand kids bitch?"

Butthead: "You're the best grandma ever, grandma J-Woww"

Beavis: "Yeah, please don't hit us again...is our uncle juicehead and grandpa gorilla gonna help us make pizza?"

Butthead: "Grandma J-Woww, where did you get syphilis?

Beavis: "Yeah..tell us that story, bitch!"

I was almost in tears from that, so hilarious.

Had a right mare with my laptop meaning I've been unable to watch Breaking Bad but finally got it temporarily fixed today and managed to catch up with the rest of episode 10 and 11 of Season 4. Gotta say the Crawl Space episode (Episode 11) was right to get all the hype I saw in this thread as one of the best episodes of the entire series, Walt's character throughout was incredible and the closing 10 minutes with all these interwieving stories and sub plots coming together to spark absolute chaos and insanity was amazing. Closing scene may actually be just behind episode 8 of this season and 'One Minute' in season 3 as my favourite climax to an episode...insane build and tension

Hoping to finish it up tonight if I can

Yeah, the ending of episode 11 was insanely intense and dramatic. I still get insane goosebumps, watching it now.

Breaking Bad has been God-tier television since the beginning.

Finished the last two episodes, so much great stuff to discuss that I can't do my usual vague review that hides the spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the episodes yet, so I'll do a proper write up with a spoiler tag that anyone who is yet to see the episodes under no circumstances may click:

Spoiler for DON'T CLICK YOU CURIOUS MOTHERFUCKER:

Insane season of the show, I'd put it just ahead of season 3 though my laptop problems meant I went close to over a week between episodes which meant my memory has lessened a bit on season 3, because up to episode 8 or so of season 4 I still considered season 3 to be the standard against which the show should aim to top.

Anyways, last two episodes were great IMO. Loved the Jesse/Walter scene about the alledged poisoning of the kid, I gathered they wanted to make Jesse's affection for him obvious whilst also ensuring he didn't become a regular character to the point where something happening to him was a certainty and for that I'm grateful, but I still would have maybe preferred just one more scene or something to maybe tease something happening to him, since his poisoning was a truly out of nowhere shocking incident but I've adored how the show has teased possible scenarios for characters and then swerved us at the last moment and I think they could have missed a trick there...like us seeing more of the kid and thinking 'gee I pray that kid doesn't get dragged up in all this shit' etc. Still the scenario they went down was the best alternative and it gave us that killer scene where Aaron Paul stole the fucking show. The closing moments as well with Walter begging for Gus to fall into his trap only to see him out-thought again was a great cliffhanger: you could almost sense Walt's character and heart just collapse when Gus evaded his clutches.

Finale was also top notch and a great conclusion to the stories throughout this season, whilst ensuring season 5 will continue in a new direction. Obviously Gus's death was a major holy shit moment even though I suspected it was coming the second he walked into the building, the music in the background felt like the sort of music you'd expect to hear as you say goodbye to a character and it was obvious he would die before Walt or Jesse. Shame because the character and acting was immaculate but he achieved his purpose of breaking the bond between Jesse and Walt whilst also pushing Walt closer and closer to break bad more often and in the process become corrupted and souless in what he would have to do to protect his family and himself: the way Walt callously remarks 'I won' after hearing 3 people died as a result of his plan sent some chills down my spine and served as the catalyst for the closing scene which killed any chance of him ever being likeable ever again, I suspected it was him from the way he acted prior to the poisoning and afterwards and was waiting for the revelation that he poisoned the child to try and revive his partnership with Jesse: especially as Walt's character is known to progress and become more evil and cold throughout the show.

Gus's death scene was really well done with him suspecting something was amiss and then screaming before the explosion, post explosion scene did seem a tad out of place for the show and in a way I felt having the last image of Gus again essentially being equal to Walt mentally and not being totally foxed into his death was the right way to go, still there's always been that dark humour to Gus's character with his quirkiness and him being a restaurant entrepreneur/drug kingpin. In fact I'd say the entire appeal of the character is based on how he can alternate between charming ordinary 9-5 worker and then see him in scenes like the Walt kidnapping in the desert and threatening his infant child. So yeah in a way I could have done without the Terminator esque death but at the same time it felt sort of fitting to the character having a unique and quirky exit, like if anyone on the show had to have that sort of death then Gus would be a better fit than Mike, Jesse, Walt or Hank etc.

Walt now being the main protaganist sets up season 5 beautifully, obviously they'll tease Jesse uncovering his deeds not only with the poisoning but also the Jane incident in season 2. Hank's investigation will surely be a major focus now that the laundry building he and the DEA suspected is suspicously destroyed, as well as Gus and Hector being dead. I also really enjoyed Skylar's expression when she realised Walt had been responsible for 3 deaths, it felt like it finally hit home to her just how far her husband has gone amidst this drug war and how much he's altered. Hopefully the family aspect and Walt losing his family until he meets his maker can also be a strong arc in the final season because with Hank, Jesse and potentially Walt's immediate family all uncovering his deeds throughout the show we should be in for one hell of a conclusion to this amazing show, and that's without mentioning the possibility of Mike returning and playing some part in all of this.

P.S More Saul Goodman please, he lends some great dark humour to the show and needs to be in more scenes, his douchebag esque comments during the finale when he enters the interrogation room had my crying with laughter.

Saul has the best lines on the show. Great character. There is not a single person on that show I don't enjoy watching. Certainly don't get the hate for Marie or Skyler - both very well rounded and interesting personalities.

Saul is just amazing, everything about the guy is hilarious.

Marie and Skylar do annoy me from time to time, though I admit watching a lot of Everybody Loves Raymond and King of Queens when I was younger has left me with a permanent hatred of the dominating wife character in a family who bosses and acts like everyone should do what she says. Sometimes I find Skylar to be annoying in her insistence people play by her rules but tbf she's been much better post season 3 onwards, Marie doesn't annoy me since she's barely in it but bar the scenes where she ventured into crime I just find her more of a waste of airtime: especially when Saul or Walter Jr IMO should be more regular/important characters than they are. Walter Jr especially since he's the last pure admirer of Walt and someone you know will be potentially crushed when everything comes to an end.

I think Saul is best suited to short doses though. Like you say he's perfect as light relief in between some real dark shit.

Yeah, Saul can get on your nerves if he's in the room for more than 5 minutes. Wonder how he will play into the last season. He might even die, who knows.
