The actor that plays Phil is just a natural moron, like Steve Carrel. Modern Family is brilliantly written tbh.

He's really great as a smarmy smug asshole too. See the remake of Dawn of the Dead. Dude's got the talent. It's great that he got the part of Phil. Talent like that deserves a steady gig.

Yeah I found that out the other day when someone here mentioned it. I figured she was a bit older than her part, but not 20.

I usually stay away from Police/Medical dramas but the Chicago Code looks like it might be good.

I plan on watching Californication for the first time tonight. Is it a show that I can easily just jump into or do I have to watch all the previous seasons to get it?

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)
shouldn't really be that hard to pick up on, but you might be a little lost in the beginning, as the start to this season deals directly with the events that were built up the entire way through season 1, 2, and finally came to a head in 3. but there's not that many arcs happening so you'd pick it up eventually.
you should just watch the whole thing though. they're only 13 episode season, and at like a half hour, you can watch a season in one night. plus season one is on instant watch.

Andy, you waiting until Season 4 comes out on DVD to watch it? First 2 episodes were great as you would expect, really psyched to see where they go now after how the second episode ended.

No arguments there. Agreed 1>3>2, but 2 is still solid.

Picture from set of season 4, unless this is off-screen, they must talk again soon I guess.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)
The Cape is so solid. Fantastic pacing in the first two episodes. There's some cool but subtle effects, some cheesiness (which is to be expected), and really fun characters, especially the villains. It's not very realistic, but i don't mind that, I don't need every superhero thing i watch to be The Dark Knight. but its a pretty fun show, i really hope it picks up in viewership and gets a whole season because i want to see where the story goes.
