How heavy is Breaking Bad's setting? Is it intense drama without any slice of comedy or "Six Feet Under" kinda drama with heavy themes but some light humor?

I don't usually watch fully-dramatic series so I was wondering how this one is.

Breaking Bad has plenty of comedy I would say. It just ramps up the intensity for the serious scenes.

Just read that New Girl has been picked up for a full season. Would have been one of the first shows I would have canned but it got great ratings. Can't see the numbers staying high for too long since it is one of the worst comedies I have watched in a while.

From what you explained about your likes/dislikes I believe you would enjoy the show.

Besides the greatness of Saul, most of the humor is pretty dark. Beneke for example. That was hilarious in a really dark way.

I'm up to Series 1 episode 2 and the closing scene involving a bathtub and Cranston's set up and reaction had me laughing hysterically.

Nah, got shit tons of Uni work so it's a slow process at the minute. I'm just over half way through. It's just that I considered not continuing after the first epsiode as I really didn't enjoy it. Must not of been in the right mood.

It's okay. I really enjoy dark comedy. Big fan of Weeds and Six Feet Under, which both have some dark themes, especially the latter.

I think I'll give Breaking Bad a shot.
