re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)

How did you find season 2?

Season 3 is so good, maybe my favorite season. It changes all the time between 3 and 4. Either way though you got some epicness ahead. Your getting through it pretty quick actualy, I suppose it is only 12 eps a season though. BSG is taking me fucking ages to get through the last season for some reason, I don't have any motivation to watch shit lately.

Season 2 was pretty good, prefer season 1 though. It didn't bother me at all and I see how it ties into the other stuff going on in the show. Really liked Frank, shame he got mixed up in what happened and Ziggy was fairly amusing too.

I see a parallel between Ziggy's fate and McQueen's. Except McQueen is gonna get done for kiddie fondling.

And you're life is going to parallel Franks, except you'll be in the New York Harbor.

Should dump you in the harbor for this.

But yeah Season 4 of The Wire is great, but I think my favorite was 1 or maybe 3.

Frank was great, and I actually really liked Ziggy by the end even though he came across as a complete dick for the most part.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)

Ranking the seasons of the Wire in order of greatness.

Season 3, Season 4, Season 1, Season 2, Season 5

I envy people watching it for the first time. I am on the 10th epi of Season 2 rewatching the whole series again, and can't believe I think it is the only the 4th best season in my opinion.

The Brother Mouzone character isn't particularly realistic in a way. But, idk maybe there are hitmen/gangsters like that David Simon would have a lot more insight then most.

Frank did a great job in season 2. Ziggy gets X-Pac heat but is still effective. Really liked Nicky Sabotka too. Stringer starting to try to go all community college on the Barksdale organization is great writing.

The Greek and his organizations scenes are awesome. Sergei "did he have hands...did he have a face....then it wasn't us" to White Mike is epic.

Also going into serious GoT withdrawal. I want to see if the North can rise up.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)

I really liked season 2 as well. I mean it's not as good as season 3 or 4, but it's easily the equal of season 1. I hated Ziggy, lol @ X-Pac heat, but the finality of his story was pretty freaking great in a disturbing way.

Frank is one of my favorite characters of the entire series.

I still need to see season 5 though.

re: TV SHOW discussion thread (NO FUCKING SPOILERS please)

Ugh season 5 maybe I was too much of a mark to see it end. I won't spoil anything for buddies watching it but idk some things just didn't add up or stay true to the series in a way in season 5.

Season 5 also seemed like David Simon sort of acting out his own problems within his own professional career that could have been left to a separate series it wasn't really true or relevant to the Wire.

I was unaware of a shorter David Simon series called The Corner that I will be watching soon. I am looking forward to it as Summer TV kinda sucks. Baseball, Southpark and Simpsons reruns get a little tired after a while.

God the Simpsons jumped the shark after about season 13 it is being ghost written and is basically Family Guy lite really not good. I don't mind Family Guy but I don't need to see the Simpsons emulate it. Fox won't let the Simpsons die because besides Football, Fox News, Idol and cartoon comedies or no on gives a fuck.
