Re: The Book thread.
Depends where you got the books in the first place. If you bought them from Amazon, just re-download from your Kindle library. Usually if you buy ebooks legally you can redownload if you need to. And if you didn't buy them, just freakin download them again. freebookspot.es.
So other than stuff off TV and movies, what do you guys read?

Re: The Book thread.
Ever since Borders closed, I've been lost lol. Even though it's way cheaper to go online, I still go and buy books at the book store. I paid freakin 30 dollars for the Chris Jericho book.

Re: The Book thread.
I've been buying off Amazon (and bulk lots off Ebay) for so many years... I just read too damn much to mess around with full store prices.
And now I download ebooks. Kindle = <3.
Tor does a monthly article called Fiction Affliction where they highlight all the new books in various genres coming out each month. Try that. I find good stuff there.
Cyrus, are there any used bookstores by you, at least?

Re: The Book thread.
Usually I read books only when I travel which means I read one book per month. It's a horrible ratio but I'm pretty sure there are worse situations. I have two favorite authors - Kurt Vonnegut and Charles Bukowski, I've pretty much read all of their books cover to cover. Personally I only read "normal" books (No digital stuff) because to me it doesn't feel right.

I love Bukowski and Vonnegut. Have you read any John Fante? He was a big influence on Bukowski.

Much better than my ratio. I have rediscovered old Observer Newsletters from the 80s and that's my reading gone out of the window haha.
I'm a third of the way through Railsea, it's supposed to have a great second half... anybody read it?

Re: The Book thread.
Working my way through Feist right now. I read his first several trilogies ages back and I guess I got distracted or forgot or something, but atm I'm reading the Darkwar books. Pretty good. I do like how it doesn't just seem like the same crap over and over, even though it pretty much is. :P Tal Hawkins is no Jimmy the Hand, though.

Re: The Book thread.
My reading has been put on hold because my kindle has broken, somehow. No idea how it happened, the screen froze. Luckily Amazon are sending me a replacement, free of charge.

Re: The Book thread.
It happens... my first Kindle kind of imploded, but Amazon is good about replacements. I recommend getting the extended warranty though, it makes things easier when it breaks because you've done something retarded (once I dropped mine and the screen cracked, and having the warranty was EPIC helpful because I didn't have to come up with some lie as to why it wasn't my own fault).

Nope, I haven't. But I'm going to check him out, I'm looking for new authors anyway
