I go mainly from recommendations. I have been reading a SCI FI mag a lot lately, and they recommended the stuff I want to read.

We should do some sort of Book Club, Get people who aren't reading here, reading here

Just don't suggest to Crofty to read anything since she'll just make excuses for years haha.

Re: The Book thread.

Finished Game of Thrones earlier on today, now on to the second book in the series. Trying to read the books before the third season starts later on in the year. Alternating between that and Die Trying.

Even if it does get a bit silly, I'll try and plough though and go from book to book. What perspective do you prefer, 1st or 3rd? I'm not really sure what method I prefer yet, have to read more of the books that are in third person to make a decision.

Re: The Book thread.

It depends on the book. Some of the stories for instance books 3 & 4 Tripwire & Running Scared/The Visitor (International Title) wouldn't work as well in the first person narrative but some books like The Enemy for instance (which is my favorite Reacher novel, its also a prequel so you could read it whenever) work better because it is from Reacher's perspective.

Actually about to finish A Dance With Dragons tonight. Barristan the BADASS FTW!

Re: The Book thread.

I'm currentky reading 'The Executioner's Song' by Norman Mailer. It's a really interesting read; I don't usually go for non-fiction but he tells the story in a very interesting (and thorough) way. It's a long read but definitely worth the effort.

Re: The Book thread.

The Enemy.

Do it. Those books are pretty easy to find now and they'll probably be all over the place in a year or so when One Shot comes out even though i'm still maintaining Tom Cruise is all wrong for the character but at least he brings publicity and will get the character noticed.

Re: The Book thread.

Recently started reading World War Z. Enjoying it very much, particularly as it's a different take on the traditional 'zombie' tale in both perspective and format.
