Re: The Book thread.

I haven're read Battle Royale, but i think the only thing they share teenagers fighting and a shitty government. It's also got the reality show aspect of Running Man I geuss.

Re: The Book thread.

What's the problem with 2 works of fiction sharing a similar premise anyway?

There are a number of differences based on the movie of Battle Royale, anyway. not read the book yet admittedly.

Battle Royale isn't exactly an original concept either.

Re: The Book thread.

Because I enjoyed the film Gone Baby Gone I bought Dennis Lehane's A Drink Before The War... should be good.

My favourite novel: The Great Gatsby.

Denis Lehane is a terrific author. Definitely worth picking that whole kenzie-Gennaro series up or on the download. His other novels are decent too, Although I found Shutter Island to be a bit pointless.

Shutter Island is the only book of his i've read. Was planning to read the Gone Baby Gone series of novels but kinda forgot about them.

Re: The Book thread.

It was good, not great. Did enjoy his writing style though.
