Re: The "Book" thread.

I have a book called "Stephen King Goes To The Movies" which contains 1408, The Mangler, Hearts In Atlantis/ Low Men In Yellow Coats, Shawshank Redemption and Children Of The Corn, although I've only read 3 out of the 5 stories.

1408 was an interesting read, The Mangler was weird, It was difficult for me to take the story seriously because of an out of control laundry machine and Hearts in Atlantis will always be remembered.

Re: The "Book" thread.

I haven't read any of the King stories mentioned... Except "Hearts In Atlantis". Read that before the movie came out b/c ads made it look good, but I wasn't sure. Liked both, but a lot of differences.

Re: The "Book" thread.

Just started reading Suzanne Collins Catching Fire, it's the second novel in the Hunger Games trilogy. I was hoping it would be as good as the first and so far it has not disappointed.

I was talking to a girl at work and she was saying how much she loved the trilogy. When I said, "Aren't those kids books?" I was yelled at and told how wrong I was and that I should read them. I read them all. First two were good but by the last book I was rooting for the bad guys and hoping Katniss (or whatever her fucking name is) would just die already. I'm glad there wasn't a 4th book because I don't think I would have read it because I usually stop myself from reading books when I start to root for the villains.

I read John Sanford's Prey serious for a while and really enjoyed them. After the awesome hit woman (can't remember her name) got beat by Davenport in her second book I pretty much started rooting for all the twisted and psychopathic killers. It got really bad as I at the end of the book I was upset that a serial killer got caught just because it was that asshole Davenport that caught him. Having thoughts like that can't possibly be good for one's mental health.

Just finished reading Forty Four as it was free on Amazon. Nothing is worse than reading a free book an Amazon and then realizing that there is a sequel or it's the first book in a series and all of the other books cost money to download. It's a genius marketing idea though. If the first book is free, people will read it, like it, and want to read more. Hey at least you get one free book out of it.

Re: The "Book" thread.

I like those Prey books because I usually know exactly where the scenes are supposed to take place seeing as I live in the Twin Cities, plus Sandford is a pretty solid writer. Been awhile since i've read any of his books though, don't even know how many Davenport books there are.
