Re: The "Book" thread.

Just finished reading Dexter Is Delicious by Jeff Lindsay. I found it to be the best of the series so far, a wonderful read that I didn't want to put down.

I got into the books after seeing the TV series, and was glad to realise they're completely different universes (other than the first series of the TV bein loosely based on the first book).

Can't wait to get started on Double Dexter.

Currently reading: The Big Sleep. Straight outta the 1930s I think.

It's not Twilight at all. Trust me on that.
Not to mention, Katniss >>> Bella so much, it isn't even funny.

She's like the opposite of bella.

I finished The Girl Who Played With Fire. Pretty good book, with stuff that happened in the first book being put into a new perspective in this book. Ending while pretty far fetched was still pretty good.

Re: The "Book" thread.

Unless hes written another one in the last two years, yeah. Although seems like he finished up with the Rain character in Requiem for an Assassin.

Actually I have another Barry Eisler book about another character called Fault Line lying around somewhere that I haven't read yet.

Edit: Oh shit there is another Rain book, The Detachment that I haven't read.

Re: The "Book" thread.

Ah, yeah. I was referring to later books in the series. I'm still working on reading Hard Rain. How is the rest of the series? At this point (stopped near page 100 on Hard Rain) Eisler seems to have a ton of ideas on the table. I'm wondering if that's how each book is.

Re: The "Book" thread.

Really good. Been a while since I read them but the fourth book (Rain Storm I think) was my favorite. Seriously Dox is beyond awesome, some of the shit he says is pretty hilarious. He pretty much becomes Rain's go-to guy after book 3, Delilah & Hilger are pretty interesting characters too.

Re: The "Book" thread.

I'm intrigued then. The fourth book is actually Killing Rain though. I recently picked up a copy. According to Eisler's site, KR is the 3rd installment.

I've read all of them upto Double Dexter, been toying with getting it on my iPad but haven't yet. Because I've watched the tv show since the last book, and I'm not spoiling when I say they're different, when I start reading I'll forget and get the books and tv show mixed up so will ave to read the last one again haha.

Happened with all of them, had to read the first 4 twice to know where I'm upto!

yeah I agree. I literally cried. I was so pissed off. Still am about it really. lol I would rather it have been Peeta or Gale than Prim

I guess it needed to be Prim to bring it full circle though. No matter what Katniss did to protect her the Capital still got her... or did they? I'm convinced it was the rebels that killed Prim using Gale's bomb scheme to do it...which is really fucked up.
