Agreed, and I hate watching films that I've read the book for. I keep thinking "that's not what should be happening" all the way through.

Random example is Dreamcatcher by Stephen King, in the book I always pictured the general as a tough as nails almost Full Metal Jacket esque type of character. In the film he's played by Morgan Freeman, and that just completely ruined the film for me.

I'm currently reading the Night Angel trilogy, it's about an orphan that gets trained to become an assassin. Lots of weird magic, politcal intrigue involved and whores involved, really liking it. I've just started the second book.

Gives me a little break from Terry Pratchett, I love the discworld novels and have been on a bit of a discworld book binge lately.

I only do that if there's a big change in the movie.

Re: The "Book" thread.

The most frustrating book to movie is The Beach.

Man, I loved the book but just didn't enjoy the film at all.

I'm reading the latest Dexter book. I've not seen the TV series at all I might get it after I've finished the book.

Just discovered a new book, which I'll be reading shortly (after finishing Hard Rain at least):

It's listed on amazon for a penny. lol, why bother?

Delivery charges, my man. That's where they make the money so don't charge for the book.

I'm reading Game of Thrones and hoping to finish the first one to get into Alan Patridge, Lee Evans and Jason manfords books.

Anyone read any of them, and are they as good as their writers other work?

Re: The "Book" thread.

Hunger Games is pretty good, even though the 3rd did kinda suck.

Almost done with The Girl Who Played With Fire. It seems like I was right on who did all the stuff.
