the sucky thing is since I rented it from the library(my dad has the last two books but they are lost and really old) i had to return it. so I just requested the two towers and will get it in a week or two i geuss.

And Yeah I had just read the part where pippen and Merry meet Treebeard. that's one long ass chapter.

In the meantime i'm reading The Girl Who Played With Fire.

I'm reading that too right now. There seems to be a lot of well, it's not filler but unneeded detail. It goes at a pretty fast pace though, so that's good.

Re: The "Book" thread.

dark tower is worth it overall imo. 4 is one of the better ones I thought though, I'd say try 5, but I know 6 and 7 were a bit of a step down imo. overall it was worth my time, though.

Ok, I'll power through it after I finish The Girl That Played With Fire.

I've heard that from several folks that they hated the ending of the series, but I'm going to keep an open mind in that regard, since SK tends to be a douchebag and not always give the reader what they want, but rather what he wants to write.

Could you not have re-rented it? Probably better reading them individually anyway!

Re: The "Book" thread.

Right now I'm finishing Blood Red Road and I have started A Clash of Kings.

Blood Red Road is really good. It's a post-apocalyptic tale about a girl and her sister trying to save their brother who has been kidnapped.

It's hard to read at first with the southern accent of the author who is writing in the first person perspective of the oldest sister. The accents don't bother me so much since that's what I've grown up with. The hardest part of the book is getting used to the author not using quotation marks when the characters are speaking. While I don't like it I've gotten used to it and it no longer bothers me.

Really good read however and I recommend it.

it's hard for me to read a book after watching the movie. Even though the book adds way more than the movie does any suspense is killed for me.
