LOTR is technically one book though, isn't it?

One major work split into 3 volumes, I think Tolkien wanted it to be.

I actually read it all in one book the first time I read it, was a monster read. I've since read it in a 6 book set, much easier.

So I just finished reading the book The Ruins by Scott Smith. It's a horror novel and i'm not gonna give too much away, but it's pretty frightening. I've been reading some other reviews of it and it seems to be something you'll either love or hate, personally I loved it. Has anyone else read it? It's kind of wordy, but a very frightening book regardless. Highly recommended from me!

  • What are you currently reading?
    Rain Fall by Barry Eisler
A book on the philosophy of language
  • Who are your favourite authors?
    None in particular
  • Any books your looking forward to?
Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic Magic - Thomas Karlsson
  • Favourite ever books?
Watchers or Odd Thomas from Dean Koontz
  • How often do you read?
When I'm in the habit, frequently throughout the day.
  • How many books do you read?
One or a few per week. Depends
  • Do you believe the merits of books outweight the merits of movies?
God yeah. Movies can't accurately and effectively depict emotion or any set of events like books can.

Just finished Rain Fall. That wasn't a bad book at all. A little wordy in the beginning. I was wondering when in the hell Eisler was going to stop describing random places in Japan but it sheds a whole dimension on the story and the main character himself.

Done with Crash Proof by Peter Schiff. Check it out if you're geeky and into economics.
