Re: The "Book" thread.

Has anyone read Wild Cards? It's edited and partly authored by GRRM but it is a long series and I've heard mixed reviews, so I'm on the fence about starting it.

Yep. I'm still hesitant to pick up Deadline since I heard its not as good as the first book.

I swore off even reading the first one until he finishes writing A Song of Ice and Fire. It amuses me how much hate he got for writing those books when everyone was begging him to write book 5, for years. The show chugging along should keep him motivated tho.

I just read American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and now reading Anansi Boys. Good stuff.

Re: The "Book" thread.

I'm still waiting to read A Dance with Dragons. Stupid library doesn't have it and my local bookstore just shut down so I have no chance.

American Gods is amazing. Bilquis is my favorite

I liked it, ending pretty much blew me away too but I can see it not being everyone's cup of tea but I like different. Another great read is Prey

Will check that out, Jurassic Park is in my to-read list as well after a lot of starting and stopping.

Re: The "Book" thread.

Still not read anything since I last posted here apart from the first paragraph of loads of books. Someone suggest I read one of the following;

Jack Dee Autobiograpy;
Grahame Sharp Autobiography;
Feed by Mira Grant;
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton;
The Many Deaths of the Firefly brothers by Thomas Mullen;
Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad;
or Robinson Crusoe?

These are the ones I have on my bedside table ready to be read and cannot choose so gonna force myself to finish one of them, first one suggested I'll read! Hahah

Re: The "Book" thread.

I recommend Heart of Darkness. One of my all-time favorites. Have read it 4x and find something new and interesting each time. Also got a pretty good grade in university examining its contents for an English Lit paper.

I love professional-wrestling.
