I did check before I made one, checked the full 7 pages. I dont if threads get deleted after they're neglected for so long, hopefully this one will keep it active.

Re: The "Book" thread.
Can anyone recommend some horror/suspense books? Since I saw this thread earlier it spark my interest to go buy some Stephen King books this weekend, might as well look for other authors too.

Cell was pretty good but if you're looking for his newer stuff I would go with Under the Dome. It's a really long book but I liked it better than a lot of his other stuff.
If you want more horror and suspense from King I would go with Pet Cemetery if you haven't read that yet, it's really fucked up but in sort of a good way. I can't even think of any other horror books that I've read recently.
The closest would be "Feed" by Mira Grant. It's not a pure horror book but it takes place 20 years or so after what was almost a zombie apocalypse. You have some online reporters following a U.S. presidential candidate all over a zombie infected American. It's the first book of a trilogy and Grant really created a very unique and interesting world. It just came out this year so I would be surprised if you weren't able to find it in any book stores by you.
And this thread is really making me feel like I read a lot.

Re: The "Book" thread.
A couple of off the beaten path King books are Skeleton Crew and Night Shift. They're both a collection of short stories and there are some real gems in these books. The Mist is probably the best one. So fucking creepy and makes the movie look retarded. Sometimes They Come Back is one of my all time favorite King stories.
I don't recommend getting involved in the Dark Tower. The last three books aren't up to the standard of the first four. Others might disagree with me though. For me, The Shining and The Stand are his two best novels.

Re: The "Book" thread.
I think the Dark Tower is probably just about worth it, the awesomness of Roland alone makes it good. You can always pretend there's only 4 books, just like there's only 1 Matrix film and 2 seasons of Prison Break.

I hated that damn book, when I had to read it in H.S. The only books I read in school that I really enjoyed was: A Street Car Named Desire; The Color of Water, and Call of the Wild. That's it.
