Re: The "Book" thread.

Whoever was asking about good thriller series', maybe look into Stuart Woods. His "Stone Barrington" series is really good. I'm on book 5 of that series and really like it a lot! Just throwing something out there.

Re: The "Book" thread.

I am not fond of reading the books. But I read the One day. After watching the movie. I find that book quite good.

Re: The "Book" thread.

Oh god, Hyperion by Dan Simmons is SO GOOD so far. Only 100 pages in, but it apparently follows the style of the Canterbury Tales, it's also really well written so far and the first narrative was kind of...chilling tbh.

Re: The "Book" thread.

A question about Dune. Should i read prequels first or should i start from original dune and read prequels after it?

Re: The "Book" thread.

I'd like to see if this place could get a decent amount of people talking about books. Another site I use (a music one,) also has a book club & a film club, and this site rarely talks about books haha, come on guys.

Re: The "Book" thread.

If you like courtroom stuff, read John Lescroart... Especially anything with "Dismas Hardy" & "Abe Glitsky". I'm not sure I'm reading them in order, but all amazing. I've read Grisham, & he has nothing on this guy.

Re: The "Book" thread.

glad to see this thread is book (who sees what i did there)

i just finished the first book in ASOIAF. i think thats how its done. it was really good. the only thing that really bothers me is Martin constantly describing what everyone wears, and as brek mentioned in another thread, what they eat.

however, the characters are incredible, their interactions fantastic, and the dialogue is gosh darn brilliant. overall its a really great book only mildly hindered what i mentioned earlier, because you eventually just start to get used to it and the flow of the book.

have a few other books to read before going on to the second.

as for James Patterson, he's hit or miss for me. i've read a large amount of his work, and i usually either sorta like it or just think its trash. but they only take like a day to read so i read them anyway.

cool and smooth, that's how i play.
