Where are you in the song of and ice and fire series?

Just finished book 5 last week. Book 3, A Storm of Swords, is the best imo. But all the books are great.

Great.

Might continue on with Game of Thrones though not sure.

I'll giving something different ago, I like thrillers (Patterson!) Anybody else too though, anything a bit unusual in the genre? Looked at some Stephen King as well, anything?

Just fire away.
Patterson is garbage that melts brain cells.

Continue on with A Song of Fire and Ice or maybe check out Lee Child or Barry Eisler. Enjoy both of them a lot.

Re: The "Book" thread.

Never been a big fan of books, but I'm really into psychology, paradoxes, and shit that just makes you think. Picked up "Justice: What's The Right Thing To Do?" by Michael J. Sandel and it's actually pretty good. He gives you situations and two sides to choose from. Who's right, who's wrong, why, etc.

For example, he had a part about Hurricane Katrina and how all the residents' lives were destroyed yet prices of essential goods went up. Normally you'd feel sympathetic towards the residents and think the price increases are bullshit, but he brings up a good point in like free market and supply and demand and all types of shit. Really good.

I am completely astonished. I know he gets a lot of flack in the field, but I and many other think he is amazing, he sells many more than a lot of authors, he does release a lot too, but that's part of the attraction for a lot of people. I like him and the way he goes about things though.

I'm going to keep going with Game of Thrones, I have enjoyed it so far and find it easy to go along with, does it get more challenging as the book and series go on?

^explain what you mean by challenging. what are you looking for from the book?

reading king rat by china mievile. hopefully he's not too preachy, as i've been told he has a tendency to be at times.

Every one of his books i've read of his (used to have a coworker who was a big fan of his and he'd loan me a book from time to time) was like watching a really bad made for TV movie written by Vince Russo.

Re: The "Book" thread.

Challenging as in hard to read? I don't mean that in a bad way, i mean that in you're actually scared to read on.

Oh I got the first law books today, heard they were pretty great.
