I mean, I agree, the book isn't actually very good, but it's at least not horrible. he's not a great writer and likes to overuse twists, so much so that it becomes predictable. his latest books have been worse though, the lost symbol was seriously bad on every level. there's a lot of actively worse crap than da vinci code. see: terry goodkind.

on the dark tower it fell apart towards the end. badly. very badly. he rushed it and it showed.

Re: The "Book" thread.

I thought some of the theories discussed in DiVinci Code were interesting but the actual plot was as much rubbish as a James Patterson book (he sucks, come at me).

Anyways finally picked up all 4 Song of Fire & Ice/Game of Thrones books. Need to finish the first before the show starts.

The Crow Road by Iain Banks is a really good read. It's my favourite non-wrestling book.

Re: The "Book" thread.

I recently read Ron Jereny's autobiography. Despite the fact that I had to wipe my hands off after each time I picked the book up because like him even the book is greasy, it was an interesting read. He has led an interesting life, to say the least.

The third was released in two parts over here. "Too big to fit in one paperback"

I finished the 1st one a week or so ago, which I also recommend. The second installment continues with great zombie stories. Some are quite clever and unique, with one in particular being quite revolting.

Re: The "Book" thread.

Read Death of WCW for the second time - very interesting stuff - some of it just floored me in its stupidity.

Made a start today on Crime and Punishment - its written bloody well but I'm struggling to make friends again with fiction after becoming so used to the pacing of films and television.

I've decided that 2011 is the year to read...

Read A Game of Thrones at some point. This will get you back into reading.
