Re: Recommend a book!

Haha that's got me intrigued. Yeah I take notice of Lance Storm's website from time to time and he mentions Lee Child in his bookmarks section, that's where I first took notice of the name and then One Shot was the first book that I came across that he'd written. How that story unfolded was brilliant as from the opening chapter you have a completely different view on things than towards the end.

Re: Recommend a book!

Yeah that book pretty easily has the best opening chapter in the series, although Persuader's opening chapter is pretty balls to the walls badass too. I especially like how Reacher isn't even mensioned until the last page.

What's your favourite one of the series? I'm still loyal to One Shot haha. Although Without Fail was great too.

Re: Recommend a book!

I really liked Echo Burning (I think it may have a different name overseas and i'm not sure what it is if it does). One Shot, The Hard Way & The Enemy are all fantastic too.

They almost all own aside from Die Trying's 3rd act turning into a Rambo movie and Nothing To Lose was dull in comparison to the rest.

Re: Recommend a book!

Nah, Running Blind is the only one with a different name over here - to my knowledge anyway. It's called The Visitor here. Which is why it took me fucking ages to find it as I was looking for Running Blind

The Visitor is a better title in that one IMO.

Re: Recommend a book!

Lee Child owns. I've got pretty much everyone of his books. My dad borrowed the latest one (Worth Dying For) from one of his work friends but i haven't got around to reading it. Read the first page or 2 already getting hyped and then remembered i have 3 assessments in the next week

Re: Recommend a book!

I'm currently reading Darren Shan's Demonata series, he also has the Cirque du freak series, great books for horror fans.

Re: Recommend a book!

The Ice Man by Phillip Carlo is a fantastic work of non-fiction, about mafia hitman Richard Kuklinski. An absolutely terrifying man, with no emotions, few morals and an extremely elaborate imagination for murder. A brilliant read.

Re: Recommend a book!

Forgot to mention "Starship Troopers" on my list.
Easily one of the best books ever written, again a bit messed up when it came to movie time.
