Re: The Book thread.

I'm currently reading The Rook by Daniel O'Malley.

Just read The Strain trilogy. Started well but went downhill massively with the last book. Anyone read it??

To be frank, I'm more put off by your appreciation of Stephen King. It is what it is...
Fair enough. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

I just had to get my mandatory anti-Tolkein rant out of the way if I'm going to hang out in this thread at all.

It's all good. Just breathe, and let it out. We're mostly adults here in this thread...

Re: The Book thread.

What are you currently reading? A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick

Who are your favourite authors? George Orwell, Philip K. Dick, William Gibson, Haruki Murakami, Aldous Huxley, Neal Stephenson, Arthur C. Clarke, Bruce Sterling, George RR Martin

Any books your looking forward to? The Winds of Winter

Favourite ever books? 1984, Neuromancer, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, A Storm of Swords

How often do you read? Everyday

Do you believe the merits of books outweigh the merits of movies? Depends. Sometimes each stand on their own. For example, I like both the movie Total Recall and the story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale, and although based on each other they are different.

I've had Nueromancer by Gibson for years. I guess I should read it.

Re: The Book thread.

If you like that genre. If you're not big on the genre, you probably won't like it.

I find it a difficult read because of the amount of outdated tech jargon in there. I have to read it with a guide just to get my head around it.
