One of these days I will have to read the Wheel of Time series. I've been putting it off, partially because a guy at work recommended it, and I often found his taste in anything to be questionable. But if you guys say its good, I'll give it a go.

well it's worth reading. it can be REALLY REALLY bad at times admittedly. but there's some fucking amazing scenes too. jordan has some fairly fucked up scenes though, in a way i find hard to describe without spoilers.

I finally finished reading Nietzsche's Birth Of Traegdy, I don't think it's his best but it's interesting to see his philological interpretation of Hellenistic tragedy in both the literary and historical sense.

Finished "Killing Floor" by Lee Child last night. Jack Reacher is a certifiable badass. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series. So far, I am put in the mind of the old Incredible Hulk tv show with Bill Bixby. Kind of a loner, wandering from town to town. Wants to stay out of trouble, but trouble finds him. Wigs end up needing to get snatched, and certain bad guys meet an unfortunate end. On to the next town...

Bearcatter its awesome you started on the Jack Reacher series. You have any questions just ask. I always kinda saw Reacher as like Kane from Kung Fu but the 70's Hulk reference is a good shout too.

You should go back and read The Enemy and The Affair next, they are prequels and The Enemy IMO is the best Reacher book.

Die Trying (book 2) & Nothing to Lose (Book 13 I think) are the only two I don't really care for, and I know Rush agrees.

I have "Die Trying" and the next two after that lined up. I tend to read things in order of release, prequel or not, out of habit. I also have a few other books waiting on my shelf, plus there is the Book Club thing starting up. But I still have to wait to pick that up from the library, so I'll be starting on book one of the Vampire Musketeers series. That should go quickly while I wait a couple of days for "A Casual Vacancy".

McQueen, have you ever read either the President's Vampire series by Christopher Farnsworth or the Destroyermen series by Taylor Anderson? Based on other things you say you've read I would think those would be right up your alley. The Destoyermen series is one of my favorites.

Has anyone read The Yard by Alex Grecian?

Getting good reviews online, just wondering if anyone has read it on here.
