Been picking up and reading the odd chapter of fear and Loathing lately. Still love that book.

Indeed, I've read that book about eight times in the last five years and never even seen the movie once!

Re: The Book thread.

Basically bought the entire X-Wing series at a used book store tonight for a little over $20. Gonna be getting my nerd on for a few weeks in a galaxy far far away .

Me too, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't remember much about it because it was about 1995 and I wasn't even 9 yet, but it was about Bobba Fett, and if I can recall, chasing down somebody with powers of necromancy.

I think the only reason I read it was because it was one of the only books in our class that appeared new. I enjoyed it definitely, surprised my little brain didn't want to find more to read looking back.

I would try and read some books now but like Doctor Who, there are soooooooooooooooooooo many haha.

Re: The Book thread.

Probably was one of the Bounty Hunter Trilogy books, The Mandalorian Armor/Slave Ship/Hard Merchandise. Been a long time since i've read those.

I've read quite a few of them. Despite the dorkiness of them some of them are very good, especially by Timothy Zahn & Michael Stackpole.

Re: The Book thread.

I'm not even sure what the one I read was about. just remember not liking it. mostly cause i thought it would pretty much be a continuation of the movies. I kept waiting for Han to show up and do Han Solo stuff.

Anyway I'm reading this mystery book called In The Woods. Really good.

Have you checked out the short story anthologies? Tales of the Bounty Hunters, Tales from Mos Eisley Cantina or Tales from Jabba's Palace?

Fun little pieces with some minor tie-in to some of the other books, particularly the Bounty Hunter Wars.

Re: The Book thread.

I've been reading the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson. Just finished the second book, Deadhouse Gates and really enjoyed it. Love how immersive the worlds are, even if the first book took a while to get into but everything pays off nicely and it has a pretty epic finish. Went and bought the next 3 in the series (10 overall currently) but might try and get into the Jack Reacher series since I've had those books sitting about for a while and they're a bit lighter, plus I don't have as much time lately to get properly into reading with uni work taking up lots of time.
