Requiem for a Dream- the second time I have watched this film. It truly is a great because it is a disturbing eye opener about doing drugs and what it can do. Starring Jared Leto (lead singer of 30 Fuk'n Seconds to Mars!!), Jennifer Connelly (Hulk), and Ellen Burstyn (The Exorcist). Awesome film from beginning to end, compiled with awesome scores by Clint Mansell.

10/10

Ellen Burstyn's character was so incredible, you're not human if you didn't feel bad for her. She just wanted to fit in the red dress and be on that tv show so bad...

May Contain Some Spoilers

I agree she was such an innocent old lady. Its terrible, I felt really bad for her. Especially where at the end you see her vision where shes on that show, and with her son. So sad.

That film ended on such a downer! But it had to in order to drive its message across.

But I agree the woman portraying the old lady did a fantastic job. You really felt horrible for her and visually stunning performances by the whole cast.

forrest Gump

Story a simple man goes on an incredible journey through life.

Acting- great, everybody is awesome, honestly can't say a bad thing about it at all.

Overall- i love this movie, it's on quite a lot so i guess it's overplayed but i still watch it quite often. it's a pretty inspirational movie becuase even the most simple people can do extrodinary things.
i give this movie a 9.5/10

I remember Forest Gump so well. I used to rock out to the Forest Gump soundtrack when I was like seven. I've seen it about 4895034958309 times, back then it was my bible.

I think Shawshank Redemption should have won the Oscar that year over Forrest Gump but I understand why it didn't. I also enjoyed Pulp Fiction more than Gump...but that's just my weird sense of entertainment.

i have yet to see Shawshank Redemption, maybe if i see it on dvd i'll pick it up. I hate how they always show movies that arn't so good and never show the really good ones on basic cable.

The Signal (2007)

A mysterious signal transmitted through television, radio, and phones causes people to go crazy and start killing everyone in sight.

I kind of just watched this on a whim. The description made it sound interesting but I didn't have high hopes for it. I was pleasantly surprised for the most part. Acting wise it was decent from this mostly unknown cast. The gore fantastic, very graphic stuff, and some very good scares to be had as well. The story is told from three different view points but all connected. The beginning "transmission" as they called it was absolutely brilliant. I was sucked into the story right away. They did an incredible job of building suspense and making you feel the desperation of the situation the main character was going through. But then it sort of lost it's way. The second transmission turned into a dark comedy for some reason, completely abandoning the serious tone set forth in the first part. Then the ending was pretty lame as well. No explanation as to where or why the signal came from but I can deal with that. (like in Cloverfield). It just seemed like it they could've come up with something interesting to end it with. Overall a good horror movie but It just fell apart after the first 40 min. It's a shame because this could've been an amazing apocalyptic classic. Comes out on Dvd June 10th. Worth a rental I'd say. Here's the trailer.

7.5/10

I saw Forrest Gump in school like two years ago and it was brilliant. We used to make fun of his accent.
