I had never seen this film before, although have heard good things about it so I decided to check it out. Simply put, it was bone-chilling, the final scenes just left me shaken as I was so dragged into the movie. Both Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman were fantastic in it, two amazing actors are always a good combination. It is easily on my top 5 Thriller movies of all time, just great.

9.3/10

The Machine Girl
A highschool girl named Ami, seeks vengeance after her brother is killed by a group of bullies afiliated with the Yakuza. Well i have honestly never had more fun watching a low budget grindhouse movie like this before. Seriously i have never seen more blood in one movie than in this one. A lot of black comedy mixed with really chessy acting and over the top sequences, I enjoyed this movie a lot.

Rating - A-

Daddy's Little Girls- a film about a poor man who tries to keep custody of his three daughters. Starring Idris Elba (Prom Night), Gabrielle Union (The Perfect Holiday), and Tasha Smith (Why Did I get Married?). I think this film was ok at best, and could have been better. Not very fond of the plot or the character development to be honest. But it was an ok watch.
If you are a fan of Tyler Perry's works this one will probably be worthwhile for you.

5/10

Derailed- two people try to take down a criminal who blackmails them about their secret affair. Starring Clive Owen (Shoot Em Up), Jennifer Aniston (The Break-Up), and Melissa George (30 Days of Night). I gotta say this film was nicely done. Great suspense, and I was caught into it the whole way through. Clive Owen does a great performance as a man who tries to save his loved ones, while dealing with a vicious criminal. Nice twists along the way keep you glued into the film. I really recommend this film to everybody, its worth it.

The Wild One

I usually don't get a chance to watch old movies like this but I'm usually pleasantly surprised when I do... my favorite being The Hustler.

Well this one stars Marlon Brando and was made in 1953. I loved it. Brando plays cool as if it's his last day and he doesn't care. I was really impressed. Lee Marvin plays Chino and my god he had me laughing my ass off after the fight scene. Classic stuff. I highly recommend it.

Lone Wolf and Cub - Sword of Vengeance (1972)

Ogami Itto, the official Shogunate executioner has been framed by a rival clan who greatly covet his position. After the murder of his wife, he and his young son take to the countryside in search of revenge.

After Lady Snowblood I decided to check out this other very popular comic to movie Samurai series. This is the first of six in the original bunch and I think it kind of hurt it as a stand alone film. While short in length it seems to drag some and there's considerable time between battles. When the sword fights actually take place is when the real fun starts. Extremely graphic choreographed brilliance, with blood gushing every which way and limbs flying by the wayside. Tomisaburo Wakayama who plays the lead is incredible in his role also. Overall it got me interested in the entire Lone Wolf and Cub story and I'll definitely be checking out the other parts. Great Hack and Slash Samurai action.

7.5/10

Jackie Brown

This Quentin Tarantino movie was one of the best films I've seen! I absolutely love Samuel L Jackson on this as he plays Ordell and some of his lines are the best. My other favourite character is Robert de Niro who plays Lois and even though he does not talk much, i loved it how he shot Melanie who kept annoying him. I did not like when Ordell killed Lois and also Jackie Brown was a good character running away with half a million with Max Cherry. This movie had a good plot and there were some memorable quotes!

9/10!

Bonnie and Clyde

This is my favorite movie of all time. I finally got it on DVD last night and I watched it twice and all of the extras. Warren Beatty is good, Faye Dunaway is excellent as is Gene Hackman. This is Gene Wilder's first role and it's brilliantly funny.

Carlito's Way

Al Pacino plays a Puerto-Rican who has just gotten out of prison. He used to be a big drug dealer and gangster, but after spending time in Jail, he decides to go straight. Temptation to go back to his old ways keeps coming up, especially with his best friend, played by Sean Penn. Great action as usual from Pacino, and Penn plays a great part as well. Good story, with a surprise ending. Very enjoyable!

Rating: 7/10

Donnie Brasco

Al Pacino plays an Italian Mobster, though is not high up like most of his other mobster films. He meets a young man named Donnie Brasco, and takes him under his wing to teach him the ways of being a "wise guy". Donnie however, is actually an undercover FBI agent, but finds himself enjoying the mobster lifestyle the longer he is apart of it. This is based on a true story as well. Overall, a good film, with some good acting, and some not so good acting.
