Really strange and disturbing movie, one that made me cringe in certain scenes. Ellen page was awesome in it though, I would give the movie a 7/10. It was actually one of the few movies where I felt really really bad for the bad guy in the end.
Gentlemen, if you lose today you will continue to be the best in the world but if you win today you will be eternal.
Loved it. I had only seen the first movie once and I really should have taken another look at it again before watching this but I enjoyed it anyway. I love these types of movies going in and this one didn't disappoint. The religious overtones are quite obvious but I knew that going in and it didn't bother me in the slightest.
7 out of 10 as a film, 9 out of 10 as a guilty pleasure pop corn flick.
I also enjoyed Prince Caspian, I loved the first and thought the second was a great sequel.
Cannibal Holocaust- a film about an archaeologist who visits a cannibalistic society in search for a video left behind by missing Americans. Supposedly this is a landmark horror film due to its gore and what not. Too tell you the truth I was not impressed at all. For a film done in the 80's I think its stupid, especially with so many gory and more horrific films around. This film is like a film circling around raping and cruelty, and I felt drained at the end. They are remaking this film next year, and I can be sure that I will not watch the remake. I really wish I didn't waste my time.
4/10- And I am being generous. I am open minded to all kinds of film, whatever the genre, but this film was just bad.
^ I didn't really like the first one so i'll probably wait for the new one to come out on dvd or something and give it a rent.
While I loved this movie it might be best for you to rent it if you didn't enjoy the first. But I think these types of movies are best seen on the big screen. A rental is about 3 bucks or whatever and the cheap viewing on a Saturday or Sunday isn't that much more *at least around here in hick-ville*
But yeah, if you didn't enjoy the first then you probably wont like this one very much either.
The Boondock Saints- a film about two brothers who kill evil people, while an FBI agent tries to hunt them down. Starring Willem Dafoe (Spiderman). I think this film was done in brilliance, I enjoyed watching it all the way through and found it superb. Awesome action, and great story. Dafoe does a great role as the smart FBI agent. If you are looking for a great film, watch this.
Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull:
In 1957, Indiana Jones is thrust back in action, venturing into the jungles of South America in a race against Soviet agents to find the mystical Crystal Skull.
Now let me be the first to say I have NOT seen any of the other Indiana Jones films so I came into this with no previous viewing of any knowledge of the last three movies. Anyways, I don't know how this matches up with the other movies but for what its worth it kicked ass, and so far tied with Ironman as my favorite movie this year. All the chase scene's were beautifully directed and there was really never a dull moment. The story was decent I don't understand why people have been ripping on it I guess they're over analyzing it. If your in the mood for a movie with non-stop action and adventure and don't mind a laugh here and there this movie is right up your alley. I had a blast at the theater and was pleasantly pleased with the ending. I'm planning on getting/or at least renting the first three movies because if there as good as this then there worth my time.
