^I kinda did that for 2 of the Star Wars movies, Jedi and Phantom Menace had really annoying charectors in the Ewoks and Jar Jar. I mean if the death star had blown up the Ewok's home planet all I would have cared about is if Han would have been off the planet. As for Jar Jar i wish Obi Wan would have force chocked his ass.

Yeah definitely not a good sign. Something about his face pissed me off for some reason lol.

IronMan - I went into this movie really expecting to be underwhelmed because for the first time in a while I actually went into a movie with expectations and that made me feel as if I was going to be disappointed. Robery Downey Jr showed me why I shouldn't have underestimated him, he was the perfect casting choice for Stark and I loved his chemistry with Paltrow and their not-quite-love story. This is the best comic movie I've seen since Batman Begins and is one of the best movies I'vee seen this year. 9 out of 10

Prom Night - And this is one of the worst. I'll give this movie credit, it managed to do better than One Missed Call (though honestly, my home movies are better than One Missed Call it was that bad) First of all I'm not one of those people who goes to see a horror flick just for the blood and gore but what the hell? All of the violence is either shot in shadow or it's obstructed in some other way. I felt bad for Brittany Snow because she is a good actress and she did try but about halfway through even she seems tired of trying to save this movie. 3.5 out of 10 (all cause of Brittany)

^The originals are 99% of the times better than the remakes. Not that the first prom night was anything special but the Asian original of OMC was really good.

The Monster Squad (1987)

A group of kids who are monster movie fanatics join together to save the world from Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man, Gill Man, and The Mummy as they try to get an amulet to control the world.

Wow the nostalgia is heavy in this one. This is pure 80's in every which way. There's a music montage, hilarious dialogs, a fat kid, who coincidently goes by the name of "Fat kid" LMAO. A little annoying kid sister, a creepy elderly neighbor who turns out to be helpful, and some extra cheesy special effects. All this sets up to be one hell of a fun flick. I just loved this from the get go. For example this one scene, kids says kick him in the nards! Fat kid says "He doesn't have nards!" *Fat kid kicks Wolfman in the balls* "Wolfman's Got Nards!" haha great stuff, I couldn't stop laughing during this movie. Here's a music tribute so you can immerse yourselves in the awesomeness that is The Monster Squad. (Scene above is in there lol.) HERE
If you like 80's cheesefest greatness like The Lost boys or The Goonies you MUST see this asap.

8/10

^^^ Yeah I've been meaning to check out the original Japanese OMC, I looked up a summary for it and it seemed to wrap things up better than the American version.

I'll take your word for it about the original Prom Night being better. More often than not people will say that the original was better even if they've never seen the original. I also feel like the originals are thought of as better because during the 70s and 80s when these originals came out some of the plots, themes, and styles used in the films were new and thus thought of better. Like Star Wars, by today's standards the effects in the original trilogy are really bad but people still think of them fondly cuz it was revolutionary at the time.

Anyways watched Smokin Aces last night - I can't pinpoint why but despite it's flaws and the fact that it's slightly odd I really love this movie. It's one of those imperfect gems that you love just the same. When it first came out I brushed it off because of Alicia Keys and Common (music artist to actor doesn't usually go well) but now I regret that I hadn't seen the film sooner. Jeremy Piven played Buddy Israel's descent into hysteria and desperation really well and I loved Ryan Reynolds in this movie. In that last scene the look in his eyes just displays every single conflicting emotion within him. 7 out of 10 stars, I loved the movie but I'm not blind to the flaws.

Semi-Pro (2008)

Jackie Moon, player, coach, and owner of an ABA team tries to finish 4th in the league which will get them into the NBA.

I'll start by saying I loved Anchorman and Old School, but I just couldn't get into this one at all. You'd expect a formulaic sports comedy and it certainly delivers that. But what matters most of all in movies like this, is if the jokes deliver. That's where this movie fails. I don't know, I think I'm tired of the same Ferrel jokes in every movie he does nowadays. Not to say there aren't any funny moments/lines because I did laugh but definitely not as much as I thought I would given the funny premise and with so many well-established comedy actors involved. I will say though that Woody Harrelson was very good in this. Overall nothing too hilarious or memorable to take from Semi-pro, but if you're a fan of WF you'll certainly find some enjoyment from this.

5.5/10

Iron Man

Just watched this last night, and after hearing mixed reviews of it I wasn't sure what to expect. Thankfully, it wasn't anything like the previous comic book hero moves from the past 5 or 6 years that have ALL been awful IMO. Iron Man had great acting, a good plot and plenty of action, with only a hint of romance (unlike Spiderman 2, that was nearly 2 hours of romance...)!

Overall, I give this great film 9 out of 10

The Forbidden Kingdom
A young, Kung Fu obsessed man from Boston is transported back in time and with the help of a monk, an orphan, and a drunk kung fu master, must return a Staff to free the Monkey King. Overall the story is straight out of the mid 90's. Time Travel really isnt that entertaining now a days. The main actor in this movie made me want to punch babies, thats how pissed off i was with him. Some of the scenes are really chessy, like the scene in the desert. Some good points are that the visuals were very detailed and great looking. The fight scenes were, for the most part, exciting and well coregraphed. Overall i was expecting more out of the movie, but wasnt dissapointed with what i was given.

Rating: C+
