Toy Story 2- the sequel to the initial animated blockbuster. The film is about Woody being taken by a crazed collector, and the Buzz LightYear and crew must save him. This film includes voices of the likes of Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump), and Tim Allen (Wild Hogs). I think this sequel is pretty damn good, very entertaining.

Exiled (2006)

After a fellow gangster decides to start a new life with his wife and newborn child, a hit is ordered on his life. 2 Hitmen in charge of doing him in, also happen to be his childhood friends. 2 other gangsters and also childhood friends show up to stop them.

Directed by Johnny To, this is a mix between traditional spaghetti westerns and modern Honk Kong action movies. The acting is solid and the score is also very good. But it lacks where it matters the most, which is story. Very slow moving and downright boring at times. Which an action movie should never do. There are some pretty cool action scenes to be had, mostly slow motion, close quarter shootouts that were very nicely done, but not enough to make up for the dull parts. Also the overly fake cgi blood they used sucked. It's looks as if dust pours out every time someone's shot. Not a big deal but kinda lame. Would've been more enjoyable had the plot been a little more coherent and moved at a quicker pace.

5.5/10

Never Back Down- a film about a guy who gets beat up on his first encounter with a jerk, and then he starts training to toughen himself up. Its really a cookie cutter plot, and the acting is not very good. But for what it was worth, I did enjoy the film. The fighting scenes were not bad, and I don't think its not as bad as the reviews made it out to be.

Just came home from seeing this. Acting was pretty bad, and so was the plot, but I enjoyed the fighting, as MMA/fighting movies get to me, so I would also rate it 6/10.

Back to the Future - A classic of mine when I was growing up. I find myself lucky being able to speak the french language as this movie, to me, is far more funny in french than it is in english. Maybe I'm the only one that can relate to this on this forum but, oh well.

All in all, everytime I watch this movie, I can't but send out a small prayer to Michael J. Fox (fellow Canuck) and to everyone who's been hit the Parkinson disease over the last decade or so. This guy was so talented as an actor for roles such as this one that it pains me to think that he cannot do the job he loved so much before he was hit with this painful disease. Now, to the movie. The plot is quite simple, a bad turn of events send Marty (MJF) back into the past (by accident). He meets the man he thaught was dead, his good friend, Doc Emmett Brown, in his past self, and, from that point on, the story revolves around two main quests. Trying to get back to his own time to save Doc, and, in the process, trying to have his parents meet so the "time continuum" or something along those lines isn't perturbed (basically, he cannot interfere with the events that will lead to his own life in his present... if that makes sense).

Great acting, relaxed story with some bits of tension here and there. Relaxed comedy and most of all, although this movie is mainly stickied as a Sci-Fi Comedy, none of it is taken too seriously and makes the experience enjoyable for anyone that doesn't like Sci-Fi genre movies (a la Star Trek).

I recommend this movie as a must for any young kid growing up or any fan of the either Michael J. Fox or Christopher Lloyd, as they truly have some of best performances ever in this movie. (with more to come!)

8.8/10

American Ninja 5: This one ninja guy has to watch over his old trainers grandson. Wacky ninja battles ensue, as the man who killed the boys father and kidnapped the ninjas new girl is sent on a mission to hold the girl for ransom in order to facilitate her father creating a chemical weapon against his will. Many ninjas die in a hit or two, cheesy jokes every other line, all in all a typical b-movie actioner.

Actual Movie Rating if you want to be a dick: 2.5/10
Entertainment Rating: 7.5/10

This movie typically rates highly in the IMDB bottom 100 along with some of the other American Ninja films. I own them all though and enjoy them for what they are.

We Own The Night

Brooklyn, 1988. Crime is rife, especially drugs and drug violence. A Russian thug is building his heroin trade, while everyone laughs at the cops. Brothers have chosen different paths: Joe has followed his father Bert into New York's Finest; he's a rising star. Bobby, who uses his mother's maiden name, manages a club. Bobby too is on the rise: he has a new girlfriend and a green-light to develop a Manhattan club. Joe and Bert ask him to help with intelligence gathering; he declines. Then, Joe raids Bobby's club to arrest the Russian. From there, things spiral out of control.

This is IMO the most underrated film of 2007, i enjoyed it even more the 2nd time.

9/10.

Brainstorm is an after thought
Default Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Just today I got to watch a movie that I have wanted to see for a long time

Goodfellas by Martin Scorsesey

The movie is based on Nicolas Pileggi's novel Wiseguys, which is based on true story. This really is great mafiamovie. I don't think it can beat Godfather but it's still damn good. It is in TOP 30 at IMDB and got six academy awards nominations.

Goodfellas is a bare description from a life of one member of mafia. We can follow the leading characters problems through job and privatelife. And the description really is bare and rude. Our leading character starts when he is just 15 and parking the cars of mafiosos and moves on to more harder jobs.

One great thing about this movie is its music. They fit in perfectly in every situation. There's not much action in this movie but still something is always happening.

Acting too is great. Robert De Niro makes awesome role as Jimmy Conway. It's shame that he didn't get many good roles after this. Ray Liotta is really impressive as leading character and narrator Henry Hill. Joe Pesci makes the role of his life as cursing madman Tommy DeVito.

This was the best movie I have seen for a while and I give it 4,5/5 stars
