The Bank Job - Stars Jason Statham and Saffron Burrows. True story about a bank robbery performed by a shady garage owner and his small-time criminal friends that doesn't go as planned. Very enjoyable as more of a old-style heist crime thriller than an Ocean's Eleven type film. Probably the best new film you could see in the theaters right now except for maybe In Bruges.

8/10

10,000 B.C. - About a hunter searching for his kidnapped love while gathering an army to stand against slavers. The special effects are average at best, you never care for the love story that's tacked on, and the action scenes aren't really entertaining. It's like the makers of this saw Apocalypto and decided to do a cheaper watered-down version. I'd have rather seen College Road Trip instead of this.

2/10

10,000 BC- a film about a young warrior who tries to rescue his kidnapped love. Some of the effects in the film were good, but that alone can't save this film. The story itself was mediocre at best, and it is hard to keep interest in the film even during the first ten minutes. The trailers made this film to look promising, but trailers can be misleading. If you want to check something out this weekend, you might want to check out The Bank Job instead, because this film just does not deliver. Do not waste your money watching this film on the big screen, it is not worth it.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005)

After a run in with the law, a petty thief (Robert Downey Jr) stumbles upon an audition for a role in a movie. After a while he finds himself in the middle of a murder mystery along with his high school dream girl and a detective who's been training him for his upcoming role.

KKBB is a very stylish slick murder mystery movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The dialogs are so great, full of really clever sharp wit, and some killer one-liners. Very good performances from Robert Downey, Val Kilmer, and Michelle Monaghan, and some pretty awesome action sequences as well, especially towards the end. Almost a spoof of sorts of classic film-noir, but with enough of a serious side to balance out some of the outlandish stuff. Really a fun movie with some genuinely hilarious moments.

8.5/10

Blood Rayne 2

An absolutely horrible movie that I loved. It doesn't take itself seriously....at all. Which is a bummer in one sense but then again it makes it easy to laugh at.

3.5 out of 10 but I can't stop watching it.

Borderland- a film that was a part of the 2007 Horrorfest (8 Films to Die For). This years Horrorfest was nowhere near as good as last years. However, Borderland is easily the best of this years 8 films. It is about three young male students who travel to the Mexican border and find themselves tangled up with the paths of a violent cult. Its also based on true events, which made things a whole lot more interesting. The plot resembles that of Hostel and Turistas, but other than that it is pretty good. A substantial amount of blood and gore, it is good for any horror film fans. Rider Strong (Cabin Fever) is also in this film, so it was cool because I am a fan of his stuff. If you are looking for a good old cheap budget horror film, this ones for you.

my favorite of last years was The Hamiltons. Gravedancers was fine, but in my opinion it seemed a little bit more like comedy than horror. If you check out this years be sure to check out these 4: Borderland, Nightmare Man, The Deaths of Ian Stone, and Mulberry Street. Those were the better half of this year. If I had to compare Horrorfest 06 and 07, I give the edge to 06.

College Road Trip- I checked this film out only because I check out all the films that come to theaters. Before even watching this film I knew I shouldn't expect much. And after watching it I still feel the same way. A real low point for Martin Lawrence, indeed. The comedy was bland, and the acting was below par. Much of what happens in this film is so cliched to the point where you can literally guess what happens next. I commend everyone to avoid this film, a terrible week in the box office for sure. Watch The Bank Job, or just wait till next week to watch a movie.

Dog Soldiers (2002)

A British squad is sent into the highlands of Scotland to take part in a training mission. What's supposed to be a routine exercise, turns into a fight for their lives as they're up against viscous Werewolves.

Neil Marshall who directed this, also was in charge on "The Descent" which I loved, so I decided to check DS out. With a low-budget, the makers did as great job of building suspense throughout. The Werewolves themselves look sweet, big hairy unstoppable killing machines, as they should be. The action is fast paced, there's plenty of blood and gore to go around so there's never a dull moment. They also did a very nice job building up the characters so you actually care when they die. A feat a lot of modern horror movies forget. Not very original but a lot of fun all the same.

WAR

This is a film with Jason Statham and Jet Li. A cop seeks vengeance after his partner is killed by an assassin.

I love Jason Statham and Jet Li but I was disappointed by this film as a whole. It's visually nice to look at but it just seemed so cliche` in spots.

Planet Terror

Soooo good. This made Grindhouse good for me, as I really didn't enjoy Death Proof all that much. But Planet Terror is just so epic and entertaining it's a movie that i find myself watching over and over again.
