Can't blame him for the plot though. I don't agree with his emotion break, but he did a very good job acting as 47.
I think it should have been longer, with more or longer fight scenes. For a film like this, the undercut < 90 minutes doesn't seem to satisfy me. Some scenes were a bit over the top, as if he was James Bond's teacher. It didn't exactly ruin it however, and it did slightly add to the fun.
The holes and flaws do not take away much from the experience. It's how a game to movie adaptation should be. 8/10

I loved the movie as well. Did you notice the blatant Dark Angel rip off in the beginning? I'm not really sure it's a rip-off because they surely had to get permission to use the exact film that was in the TV show. I'm thinking they might tie it into Dark Angel somehow in the future. Which will of course blow me away if they bring that character into it.

People still expect movies based on video games to be good?

Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
Mongol
About the legendary conqueror Genghis Khan. First of all coming into this, I was expecting a movie like 300, Braveheart, or even Apocolypto what I got was a really poorly put together story, full of historic inaccuracies and just a badly written script. I don't know how you mess up a movie about one of the most influential people in the history of the world but they found a way how. I will give it this though, the movie is visually stunning, really beautiful landscapes, great costume designs, and it did have a couple pretty cool battle scenes but the rest was just a mess. For one, it was way too short, for an epic like this to work you have to take time and show how he untied the tribes how he came to power, how he became almost a mythological character in history and they completely skipped around it.
***Mini Spoiler***
One scene he's playing with his kid after getting out of prison, next scene he's leading a huge army it like wtf aren't you gonna tell us how he got so many solders? Why they followed him etc...
***End of Spoiler***
Apparently this will be the first of 3 depicting the life of Temujin. I can only hope the other 2 are better put together. It's a real shame, this could have been a masterpiece but they dropped the ball.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford - I finally got around to watching this film after hearing great things about it from people. The film revolves around the latter years of the infamous outlaw (Jesse James) life, and his final moments where he was murdered by Robert Ford. I have a thing for films set in the past, because most of the time I enjoy them. I've got to say Brad Pitt does well as Jesse James. I have been very impressed with Casey Affleck ever since his great performance in Gone Baby Gone. Well I guess its no secret that Jesse James is assassinated in the film (due to the very subtle title), so i will go ahead and say the actual scene made the film. Watch this film!

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
Suburban Commando
Hulk Hogan is the star of this film, and he plays some sort of Intergalactic Warrior who goes around saving people and planets from evil. He ends up having to land on Earth due to nearly destroying his own ship, and finds an apartment to rent. The guy renting him the apartment follows him to his ship one night, and accidentally sends out a signal which brings 2 bounty hunters to Earth to kill Hogan (The Undertaker is one of them). I won't say much more about the plot, as I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it but wished to .
Overall, I liked the film. It was funny (even in parts it wasn't supposed to be), and I don't think it's as bad as some people think it to be.

Mr Nanny
Another Hogan film, this time he is a wrestler who ends up being a body guard for a rich guy's kids. Their nanny leaves due to the kids being awful to her, and Hogan takes on the role as bodyguard and nanny for them. The kids torture him in hopes that he will leave, but he stays and they eventually like him. The kids get kidnapped by someone who is after something their dad made, and Hogan has to rescue them.
Very funny film, but I'm not sure if I was laughing at the jokes and gags, or just laughing at it . I still liked it though.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
Heat- a film I just had to watch for two reasons: Al Pacino and Robert Deniro. These two in a film together can only mean good things for us viewers. Plenty of good action, crime, drama in this film. Robert Deniro never ceases to amaze me, and Al Pacino once again puts on a hell of a performance. I am actually very shocked that this film did not receive one Oscar nomination, because in my opinion it deserves one. I am not a huge fan of Val Kilmer (Batman Forever was disastrous on so many different levels) but he wasn't too shabby in this one. I did however have problems with the film length, because this film is basically three hours, I get very tired after 2 and a half hours. If you enjoyed films like Carlito's Way, Casino, and Goodfellas, this one is for you.

Cloverfield - Camera pissed me off at some points, but for the most part, it was cool. Overall, it was a good film. I expected a little more at the end though. 7/10

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw
Lars and the real Girl
About a very awkwardly shy man who finds companionship in a "real doll" he found on the internet. Don't be fooled by the ridiculous plot summary into thinking this is like a Ben stiller comedy or anything like that. It does have some very funny moments but at the heart is a well constructed drama. Ryan Gosling plays the incredibly shy introverted character very well and you really start to understand him and why he chose this particular "girl" to be with him. Very original idea and executed perfectly. The entire cast is great, you wish you lived in a town as caring as this one, and you hope Lars can overcome his shortcomings and come out of it a better person. Very charming movie and definitely a feel good flick to enjoy, you can't help but smile throughout.
