Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Lord of War
This movie stars Nicholas Cage as an international Arms Dealer. Overall i was quite surprised by how good the movie was. Obviously the movie was very violent, as well as alot of drug use. The biggest problem i had with the movie was Jared Leto's character. Maybe it just didnt connect with me, but i didnt like his character at all.
Overall, however, if you enjoy Nick Cage's work, you will porbably enjoy this one.

Rating: C+ - B-

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

unfortunately about two spoof movies come out each year. Avoid Meet the Spartans at all costs, these movies are targeted for the youth. I mean the 10-14 year olds who would find it funny.

I avoid anything with a Wayans or Carmen Electra, it should be a rule of thumb.

Ab-normal Beauty

I'm a big fan of asian films especially horror so I had to check this one out. Don't know how I missed this one but, better late than never I suppose. This movie is about a talented artist/photographer that's not satisfied with her accolades and awards and tires of the same ol same ol. Coupled with some traumatic childhood experiences and a real lack of a mother daughter relationship, she starts obsessing over death. Now 3/4th's of this movie was absolute brilliance in every way, I was floored by the pulse-pounding and some times haunting soundtrack, the acting, some very unique directing techniques, and it really is one of the most beautifully shot films I've even seen. You could really feel the lead actress falling into an uncontrollable madness, but then inexplicably it turns into a cheap slasher film. The ending is SUCH a disappointment. Think Saw....This film had so much potential and it just fell apart at the end. I was thinking 9/10 till the last 20-30 minutes or so.

7/10

Rambo

I enjoyed this movie. It's exactly what it advertises to be. A popcorn flick with tons of violence. And it delivers exactly that.

As a popcorn flick I'd give this a 9 out of 10 but as a film I have to give it a

6.5 out of 10

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Just finished watching 'The Blue Lagoon'

Had doubts at start but really started to liven up. Liked the way they transferred from when they were kids to young adults. They handled the fact they were marooned on an island brilliant. Things like PMT, Pregnancy and Sexual Tension were great scenes and great acting, by Sheilds inpaticular. Really moving as well to see them grow up, in some ways, in a climate where everything which is common to us is strange to them.

Loved the ending of the film, summed it all up really.

8/10
