Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Once Upon a Time in the West

I waited far too long to finally watch this movie. And what can I say other than I absolutely love it.

I'm a huge Sergio Leone fan to begin with. And this film doesn't disappoint. The writing is good, the cinematography is excellent and the score is damn near perfect. The acting is excellent as well.

I love the casting for this movie also. Charles Bronson's eyes are so damn haunting. Jason Robards eyes are so damn sad and Claudia Cardinale's eyes are so damn beautiful.

And as you know, there's not a lot of dialogue in Leone films so facial acting is so very important. And I couldn't have been happier with this performance from these characters... and that's not even mentioning Henry Fonda's performance as Frank.

I can't praise this film enough.

Re: Rate & Mini-Summarize the Last Movie You Saw

Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.

Nolan, your are the best filmmaker of this generation. There I said it. This is what I love to see. An original idea (no pun intended ) and not some dumb remake or sequel or film based off a book. This movie is just so detailed and layered and beautifully well done it's hard to find anything to nit-pick at. The only thing I would warn certain viewers on would be some of the younger audience might not understand it's complex narrative. But besides that I cannot think of one single thing this film didn't have. First of all, the cinematography was just stunning the film, the very few moments you could catch a breath, looked stunning. All actors brought out their A game here, most notably Leonardo DiCaprio who in my opinion should win for Best Actor this year easily. It's got some of the best action scenes since The Dark Knight (go figure ) hooks you in and never lets you turn off your brain. Let me ask movie lovers, isn't that the whole point of a good movie? To challenge your thinking? While leaving you wanting more? Bottom line is go see it. Just do it, find the money somehow and enter the world of Inception.

Overall Grade: A+ (simply flawless)
